My 550i lease ends October '10. I'll want something that compliments the Z4.
The BMW short list at this time is :F10 550i, M3 4 dr, X5 4.8, & X6 5.0. I will have to drive the competition but few other cars excite me at this time. Although, the Auto show is next weekend, something else might strike my fancy.
F10 550 will be a beast, especially after a tune. M3 would probably be more fun to drive as it is smaller. As for X5 and X6, I am just not into taller vehicles but some of the ones that I have seen at meets look very very nice.

I am considering a porsche cayman S. I have even considered putting my car on lease trader, but I wont. It is fuel pump frustrations.

My next car will very likely be either a cayman S or an M3.

I have a thread on that. Can you drop by, vote and comment please. Thanks

I'm not crazy about big tall vehicles but I lost a lot of utility trading the X3 for the Z4. That would get it back.

Big, tall vehicles make sense (to me) if you need more cargo space. I only need the space that a mid-sized sedan provides.

I think a prius or something In Holland they are going to charge taxes per drive mile depending on CO2 emmision starting 2012. For my 530d this tax will be 0,40 USD per mile.

Per mile?! That sounds strict!
They are starting the taxation based on CO2 emissions here too, but it will be constant for the whole year. In addition to CO2 tax there will be other taxes too though.

Here's a table for CO2 tax:

edit: This will start next year.

I rarely need lots of space. Only when on long trips, running errands, or taking my bike somewhere to ride. Not too many folks fetch bales of pine needles in a BMW 550i. A guy even laughed at me putting them in the trunk of a Dodge Neon I once had.

Well then it sounds like a mid-sized sedan is about as big as you need. Look, if I had 3 kids and a big dog rather than a little 20 pound Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, a bigger vehicle would be in order. But for my needs, i never need more space than a mid sized sedan. The only thing I wish my E60 had was a little more rear seat legroom as my Victor is growing like crazy and is now about 5' 3". My Infiniti M45 had a lot more rear seat legroom. I wish BMW would bring the leg wheelbase 5 Series here to the US. I saw a lot of them in China and the extra rear legroom would be great.

+1 to that. My E60 has less rear legroom than my wife's Golf 6.
