i think the topic of this thread would be exactly the same as saying "raising the lower age limit for drivers?". The low age limit has some reckless teenagers behind the wheel and a lot of them dont have the ability to measure danger and consequences. I must clarify im not saying ALL of them, im just saying SOME, others are quite mature to be behind the wheel, exactly like some elderly people lose their skill, but others are the most conscious and experienced drivers.
Besides, it is just not fair to ask somebody to quit driving just because we asume he has limited ability, what are you going to do about their independence to drive freely and by themselves anywhere they want, what is going to be their mean of transportation. Let a test prove they are not able, but lets test everyone periodically since anyone can lose their skills at some point (or have none to begin with) and maybe well get a few surprizes because probably well notice that the lower age drivers are the cause for most accidents (as the insurance companies have already)
btw, im just getting to my mid 20's. But i don't like discrimination of any kind.
tnx

[quote name='Rudy' date='Aug 29 2005, 03:38 AM']It shouldn't be about age, it should be about ability.? I know a 90 year old that can drive better than many 40 year olds.?
Mandatory re-testing at some set interval (every 5 years or so) would help tremendously.? Also, at least in the US, the test should be much more stringent to become licensed...
