I'll take responsibility for that one. I had Cincy in my football pool.

As a matter of fact I did, by mistake. I could of sworn that I picked GB, but my card says otherwise.

Yeah, Polamalu is as dirty as they get... I guess that's why he's been in the last 5 pro-bowls, etc. Troy is considered by many as one best Safeties in the game -- you don't get those accolades by playing dirty. When you go for a guy's legs and are pretty much in mid air, sometimes knees get in the way. Incidentally, Troy is really a soft-spoken, gentle, highly religious person who is not motivated by dirty play, he's a true athlete.

Since you brought it up, the Carson Palmer injury was also not from a dirty hit (and did not come from Troy Polamalu). In fact, the Palmer injury back in 2005 (or 2006) happend pretty much the same way as the Polamalu injury last week. Neither hit was dirty, it's just an unfortunate by product of a violent game. When Kimo von Oelhoffen hurt Palmer's knee, he stood there and apologized to him. Again, Kimo is one of those "gentle giants" who, regardless of his size, is the kind of guy who does not want to injure anyone. (Ironically, Kimo was a Bengal in the mid to late '90s.)
i didnt say he was dirty. simply playing out of control. 3 personal fouls in a matter of 2 quarters?

I can't say I recall each and every personal foul on Troy but I do recall a few calls during that game that were quite questionable. Either way, I agree that he was playing like a man possessed (or, out of control, if you see it that way) but my point was only that he's not the kind of player that plays dirty.

The fact that you mentioned the Carson Palmer hit in the same context as Troy getting called for personal fouls sort of implied, at least to me, that you were calling the Steelers dirty...
