I`m not R or L, Rep or Dem. I`m a proud American who supports whatever individual stands up to try to make the nation better. I have two masters degrees in Diplomacy and a Congressional Fellowship as a demostration of my patriotism. What I have done is served in combat 11 times over the last 16 years to secure American democracy. I`ve buried 14 friends and fellow Soldiers, and loss 8 friends in one incident. I have also lost one wife and missed several years of my childrens childhood. If you`d like to discuss the current Admin policies, please continue...

Players offer solutions. What books, commentaries, columns, or published essays have any of you written to offer solutions? What local, natonal, or international rallies or conferences have you organized to offer solutions? Simply paying taxes does not constitute one as a player. AQiA sleeper cells pay taxes! However, very few CEOs and Board members making $500k a year and up rarely do. I doubt if any of the members in the thread draw that type of income. Therefore, you live with the civil tax paying masses. And with that, any diminutive shift in U.S. policy will directly concern you. The failure of any policy is a direct concern to American vitality, and the world. So to wish for the faliure of any administration is counterproductive for the world.

Point the topic and let`s discuss.

Note: I offer an apology to White Alpine Girl. The white thrash comment I made was meant as a joke not to offend you. When I reread it, I realized it was written offensively. I do apologize to you and anyone it offended. I am sorry.

i heard Obama promise a lot of things......honestly i cant wait for him to fail.
When our President fails it hurts our country regardless of the party of the President. Although I did not like President Bush (primarily due to his stands on cultural/bedroom issues), I always hoped that he succeeded. And even though he had many failings as a President, it was no accident that the US was not successfully attacked again after September 11. To me, that was one of Bush's greatest successes.

If Obama does fail with his intentions, it would be better for the country, IMHO.

I don't want Obama to fail in a way that would hurt this country any more, but if he fails with his socialistic policies, I think it would be anything but failure for America.

Well spoken. Savvy politically aware citizens understand that a Presidents policies are not realized until 4 to 8 years after his adiministration, i.e. the Community Reinvestment Act by Clinton that crippled the world economy 4 years after he left office. I will point to the debate over the Iraq War under the Bush administration. America has lost 4,300 military servicepersons since 2003. Many disagree with the policy - however I would submit we rethink this in 2015 when Iraq willl potentially become a regionally postive-powerhouse that moderates contentions in the Middle East and the Bush Administration is to thank.

It`s not so simple to say I don`t like that guy! Think long range. Universal Health Care? Most people hate the idea - this is until they (personally) have a significant life event and learn the full understanding of what "pre-existing condition" means when you search for health care.

Define Socialism? Roughly - the mean of government ownership of private property and goods and services production.... Point to what the current Administration has done that is socialistic?

Thankfully, the current administration has not yet set in place the programs that Obama had promised. Government run health care in this administration is a prime example.
Government taking control of the private sector is Socialistic. Look at the government health care programs in, Europe and Canada for example...successful? Not so much...

Taxing of the rich....because that always works too right?

When you take the money from those who have earned it and give it to the people who could do the same...it takes away the incentive to work, and better yourself. If the government pays for you, then why should you ever try to better your stance in life?. Obama "just wants to make sure that everybody who is behind you, that they've got a chance for success too. [His] attitude is that if the economy's good for folks from the bottom up, it's gonna be good for everybody. [He] thinks when you spread the wealth around, it's good for everybody." - Quote from Obama.
[SARCASM]Oh, Obama doesn't want to punish me, he just wants to give away my money to people who could earn it themselves like I did, It's all good [/SARCASM]
