ok, im surprised no one has asked this yet (or i may have missed a post, which im pretty sure i havent)...anyway..

with the SB, how big is the difference between driving in D and DS modes. IMO, without the SB, the DS mode is like 3 times more responsive than regualar mode. Does it feel even more responsive with the SB?? and what mode do you guys usually drive on with the SB?

I installed 2 of the SB's last night. WOW

The first went into the Cooper S 6-spd. The Mini was fun to drive before, but with the SB, it actually can push you back in the seat upon acceleration.

The second went in the 545i SMG. I didn't test drive it last night, but I did move it from the street to the driveway. It seemed different.
This morning, I pull out of my driveway and I almost shot myself into the neighbors house. The delay of waiting for the car to move is gone. The response time is almost instaneous. I drove 18 miles to work with a smile on my face.

I can't wait to drive home.

If you haven't purchased one, I'd recommend it.

So here I am Tuesday morning, and I've now ordered my second Sprint Booster, this time for my X5 as there is NO WAY to drive it without one!! I think I need a 12-step program or something!!
That's interesting. Is your new X5 a 3.0si? Like you I also installed my first SB on my 2005 545i and got a second one for our 2008 X5 3.0si. Actually, the new X5 replaced my wife's old 2001 X5 3.0i which had a surprisingly peppy and quick acceleration. After being disappointed with the new X5's acceleration and my wife complaining that the new one accelerates slower than her old X5 (with 170,000 miles) used to I took the SB off of my 545 and tried it on the new X5. Although the SB's effect on the X5 wasn't as drastic as it was on the 545, it was still a significant improvement. So I left it on the X5 and got a second one for my 545.

By the way, there was a thread on X5world.com inquiring whether an SB for an AMG ML63 would fit an X5 4.8i....I said that the plugs would probably be different and went on to write about my positive experiences with the SB and let's just say that my opinion was not well received. They basically said that it was all in my head, placebo effect, etc.

pre SB i nearly always drove in DS because i found D was just too sluggish. With the SB i find that D is perfect and the throttle respons is amazing, it is like nght and day. I am actually finding that in DS with the SB the throttle is a little too sensative, if you are not smooth on application the trans seems to get confused about what gear it should be in and the changes are very sharp jerky. Anyone else found this in DS mode?
