When I installed the SB, I did have a problem with how to plug it in, it could be plugged in upside down.
So take notice of the (small...tiny even), numbers on the plugs and go accordingly!

Did you actually plug it in backwards and then use it? What happened? Or what problem did you have "with how to plug it in"?

Yeah I'm going to get in trouble with it. The throttle is very punchy now. If I get on the gas on the highway at speed ( 60-70mph) I actually get wheel spin in 4-5 gears and the TC goes nuts.... This I honestly can say is the first car to do this while driving, and I have driven some newer vets and and S and M line Audis and BMWs . It is a totally different driving experience now, I will have to be very careful in Stop and Go traffic.
Well worth the price, I could not imagine this with a Dinan or other ecu mod on a 535... like not much point in getting a 550I or e39 M5.

I don't have one in my possession until next week. When I get mine I will check again, but I seem to remember due to the shape of the plug that it was designed to not be able to go together back wards. I remember a flat side and a curved side. Maybe I am wrong.
Best to check the numbering in any case.

I just received mine from Andy this morning, i wish i had an Alan key at the office as i would go down to my car park and install it now. I am a little disturbed to hear memebrs are having problems with the engine check lights and such after the install. I suppose i will just have to be careful to line up the numbers and push hard to engage the pins and hope or the best.....
PS is there any thing else i should be mindfull of when installing the SB????

I think it was mentioned earlier in this thread, but after the install, there will be a noticable smell of burning rubber coming from the rear...
(I love that one...too lazy to find out who to properly quote..)
Finally got my own (actually that was fast). Just put it on and off to a meeting...
1. You would have to destroy the plug in order to plug it in backwards, just use common sense and look at the plugs and how they are meant to go together.
2. I did not get any lights this time. I think or IMHO it has something to do with when you swap between cars and goes away with a re-start and never come back anyways, so nothing to worry about if you see some lights upon initial install.
3. My wire coating is more of a brown then the sporty red color that ECF's is and most other's I have seen pictures of, but I don't really care
. Just an observation. The red looks kind of sporty, though if you leave any wire exposed.
