It's your driving. You must have graduated from the VT driving school.

For a smaller engine like yours, I really doubt a K&N drop in will make a huge noticable bump in performance. The SB doesn't add power either, but it'll make much better use of your take off/acceleration/shifting, which I think is a great benefit and why everyone else got it for.
+1.

Even for bigger engines, you don't get that much power from a filter at all. A high flow intake system on the other hand will give you a tad more power but that's due to better piping to allow more foreced air into the intake box.

VT's driving school is you sitting in his passenger seat and he'll freaking floor the damn thing while you're looking away, thus slamming your head to the headrest and then laughing his ass off at you.....

Most people get aftermarket filters in conjunction with other performance mods. Collectively, all the mods will give noticeable difference in power. You asked if the K&N will give you a big difference in power and the answer is no. Every pony helps though so if you plan on adding other mods, the K&N will definitely complement them.

I'd get the SB for now. If the K&N were to be my only power mod then I'd leave it stock. I have the K&N drop in filter myself, but I also have a straight pipe exhaust to help with the air flow on the exhaust end. Not sure if the K&N did anything, but whatever.

The K&N will probably give you a couple horses but it's supposed to also improve your gas mileage. It's not that much money so I would still do it but just be aware that you won't see anything significant and it won't give you any better chance against those cars than before you have it.

Sorry for hijacking this thread guys. bteljuice1, you should start a separate thread to discuss this further if you have more questions.
