Pete550i,
honestly should have never felt or ever feel the need to "defend" your purchase. Everyone is going to have their opinion: good and/or bad, but as stated often, your own personal satisfaction is what is important...
and as I've stated often, I don't HATE the F10 nor do I think it's "inferior" the E60....it's just different strokes for different folks...I would think many of us feel the same way...just choose to verbalize it various ways...
now, on to my own decision as my lease ends december

Sure, he's "experienced", but in this case, it's not what you're probably thinking.

The F10 is backwards in design and looks bloated. To me the newer BMW designs are going back in the ways of the E39 days where a 3, 5, and 7 series are identical except for size.

My Ride: 2006 BMW 550i "Ben Hogan's 5 Iron"

2003 Audi A4 3.0 CVT "Part of the Moniker"

Well said swajames.
I think we need to give the 5er a chance. If the new steering is a little numb I'd trust BMW will fix it. When we see new styling packages in sport models I think we people will begin to appreciate the new styling. The thing is BMW tends to offer the best combo of technology, handling and appeal. 3 years from now the new 5er will likely be the best option for the sport driver.
Things change and my honest beleive us we entering a new era in sport and luxury cars. Automakers need to bring mire to the overall package to be successful. It some prefer the tactical and raw handing feel, they need to go with a dedicated sports car or a rocket 4 wheel sports car. Cars evolve and that great feeling of say a e36 m3 is in the past. Let's embrace the future Right?
BMW is following what people want and the fan base is like me getting older. It's clearly evident in the interior of the f10 and in the new features. Some are pretty cool.
I don't like the styling but it's not replusive. It may grow on me. I just really love how unique the e60 was and that modern and stark Germanic feel. An interesting twist and something BMW can be applauded for and not blamed for moving away from to meet the realities of the market. I'm glad to have enjoyedthe e60 model.
Maybe we want too much. Thrilling moderism, carbon fiber construction, a 3500lb car with all the same features and programable sound acoustics where the f10 sounds like a Ferrari 430. Yeah that wiould be cool for us gear heads but what automaker would dare try that and jeep the necssary customers to stay in business. At least till the herd copped on.
The f10 is an accomplishment and I bet the naysayer will eventually embrace the f10. Including me.
Btw. I just drove my e60 thru the smoky moutains on way from Chicago to Charlotte. BMWs are great machines.
PS sorry fir the typos but posting by iPhone sucks.

I personally do not like the F10 looks. Or maybe it would be more accurate to say that I wish BMW went a different direction... I would still happily own one if it was given to me. Actually comparing it to the current A6, E-class, G-series I might still choose the F10 over those. All my thoughts have been covered here multiple times. I also agree with how the E60 early dislikes are different then this current F10 "hatred". So let me actually post some pics of a modded F10 in this thread to make for a better discussion and to play "devils advocate" sort of...

Um. I'd rather see the interior picks. That said i'd keep it in my garage with only mild resistance. Now where is me pint?
Btw. Isn't the arse the best part?
