I too think not bringing the F11 to the States is a HUGE mistake on BMW's part. As I've said before, I have NO interest in the trendy 5GT. With limited visibility and cargo space, it fails to fulfill the needs of a wagon buyer and no, I have no interest in an X5 with less cargo space and a high lift over. I for one will be looking closely at the new Mercedes-Benz E350 4Matic wagon being released in June.

Shame on you BMW!

The new MB may end up as the only option for USA (and likely Canada) for people who want a full size wagon (and have forsaken the SUV). I hate how MB prices their cars though. Using the new E sedan on their website as a baseline, you have to add options in two very expensive option packages (Premium 1 and Premium 2) to get the options you want (all or nothing) so the price of the car gets crazy hi really fast.

Maybe if you keep the car RWD you can save the $2500 (!) for 4 Matic and Add Premium 1 for $4K you can keep the car under $60K. But you still have to pay $700 for metallic paint and $1600 for leather (both standard kit on the BMW 535. What a raquet....

Looks like MB saw the light and is launching their E350 4Matic Wagon in the US.

Will this enlight BMW to continue importing the 535xit with the F11 or cause our defection to the brand?

I don't think so. They are trying to get buyers into the GT instead of importing the Wagon. Of course, they have to justify the GT's existence. I cannot wait until the 3 Series GT comes out. On the upside, it looks like you might be able to get the 335 i wagon finally.

The 3-series wagon is quite a bit smaller! If BMW tries to make us E61-lovers swallow their GT crap, we'll just have to go MB!

Le coup de grace: http://www.bmwblog.com/2010/04/06/of...on-in-the-usa/
Too bad. I guess they'll loose me as a customer! MBs never looked so hot. Who would have thought?
