I happen to love the e39. It's classically proportioned, sporty, without looking bulbous. The F10 has yet to look this way to me. Classic? Probably. Overweight and large? You bet.

apples to oranges, but for the sake of argument (and because you need more reasons to post...)
function and affordability.....
brand loyalty to toyota and the camry...
I'm willing to wager there is a bigger population of individuals that can afford a camry but not a 5 series..
those shopping for a bmw and 5 series are a different demographic of a camry....we don't want a camry, we want a luxurious sports sedan and are willing to pay for it (when you think, say or hear camry, does luxury or sprots sedan come to mind? when you think of a BMW 5 series, what words come to mind?)....not knocking the camry, I have a few family members and friends with them, great cars...just not for me, as I have an issue with spending my money on frivolous things like performance, handling, technological gadgetry, that BMW logo
but even with people like me, we want to feel like we are getting the most bang for out buck (in terms of car and function), just like camry owners...
okay, your turn pete.....

My Ride: BMW E60 530i
I've been VERY silent in this forum for almost 6 months!
But I see that people are still scratching their heads about the F10! Even AFTER 6 MONTHS! That says a lot to me! LOL~
And with looks, it's definitely important! You can never get too hung over looks I think because that's what attracts most purchasers except for performance-only freaks!
Like, I don't know about most of you, but I never liked BMWs until I saw the E60 back in early 2004 in a television drama and I just thought "WOW!" and fell in love with it at first sight!
And, I've just confirmed to purchase OEM BMW front carbon fibre lips, M-tech Xenon and Eisenmann Race GT exhaust for my E60!
Not even going to consider the F10 until they fix up the front, especially the droopy eyes! And, after seeing some F10 M5s STILL with the droopy eyes, going to wait for the F12/F13 M6 (weekend ride) and keep my E60 in mint
condition for everyday!
Fantastic way to keep the BMWs I think!
