Trying to Find a short

So , I took the battery into work and did some charging and discharging tests. Its 110Ah Battery so I mispoke earlier. It says right on the label. It pretty much says 100Amps for 1 Hour. I was pulling 10Amps or even 20 Amps and it would hold it for about 3 Minutes then drop down to 9.8Volts and hold it there.
Found my original Order confirmation and went to Advance auto and they put their Tester on it and they end up giving me a new battery. The Ordinary battery load testers don't seem to be good enough to say if there was a problem or not since you can't leave them on for more than a couple of seconds.
If this fixes the problem, I have to tackle the next module issue. Probably the Fan behind the Cabin Air temperature sensor module since I don't have good heat .
So , now I have to hope and pray that was is.

I hope it is too after spending a month to figure out it possibly could be the battery causing all your issues. I hope you get the rest of the car figured out which should be just as easy as it was with the battery.

Sounds exactly like my battery story except AutoZone tried to tell me the battery was good. Well that's because they didn't load it long enough. I did and it failed. I had him redo the load test longer and then bam, the battery failed. He then handed me a new battery.

Excellent. Its a simple math. 110aH. My problem was showing up when it is cold outside and battery is not optimum. I won't be able to say if I nailed the problem until I drive it a couple of time and stop and start it.

So, I installed it and Car Starts fine. I won't able to say if I fixed the problem until I go through a couple of cycles. I do have 2 Questions. What is this connector hidden in the battery compartment. I saw it tucked in. Also, when I tried to register the battery, I kept getting this error message. I can access the IBS information, it sees the module, I see all the history just I can't register the battery.

There should be one cable that's not plugged up and one that is in the same area. I don't know what the one that has nothing to plug in to for. But the other one should be going into the negative terminal.
What are you using to register the battery? Do you have to change the battery class also?

Hi, I used INPA. I could locate the one in ISTA right now. There is one that goes from Positive to not sure the IBS or some other place. The one I am showing on the picture had connector in it that looks like it was Cut off. I have to translate those German Words I suppose. I am still learning this INPA and ISTA programs. I suppose ISTA+ and ISTA P are not the same but similar. ISTA + looks like is more for me than the ISTA P.
When I get a chance, I will try to locate some wire diagrams and chase these things.

My BST is tripping again and so I was just in the battery area today. I've never seen anything connected to that connector and so I wouldn't worry about it. But yeah don't count all of your chickens just yet before they are hatched. You could have another battery issue months from now if your IBS is faulty or if you don't register the battery.

These are the steps in INPA
Step 1: select BODY from the left hand pop-up menu
Step 2: select POWER MODULE in the right hand list
Step 3: select ACTIVATE from the next menu
Step 4: Select ACTIVATE2 from the next menu
Step 5: Then select F7 - Register battery replacement. Almost instantly you get the message: "Register battery replacement Activated properly."
You may want to make sure that the class is programmed correctly also. ISTA P and ISTA+ is essentially the same. You should be using ISTA P for programming E series. ISTA+ is used for F and G series. Even though you can still use it for some things for the E series.

That's not the BST wires (where you connect the 2ohm resistor for the airbag bypass). BST has a totally different connector. I have that same connector on mine and nothing is connected to it.
