I had a quick search but can't find anything

I want to remove the dpf pipe from my 525d but it looks a nightmare

Does your car have a separate dpf under the car in the middle of the exhaust or is it combined with the catalytic converter which locates right behind the turbo?

edit: I'm asking because according to RealOEM, it is a separate can under the car (525d 2006), and that is extremely easy to remove. Whichever it is, you need coding too if you're planning to remove the DPF completely.

Oh! I guess you have checked it yourself, right?
That is trickier then and I'm sorry I have no info about that.

I have TIS, I can check if I can find removal instructions for you...

- Antti -

edit: Even TIS claims that you have a separate DPF under the car, but I'm searching for those another instructions...
edit2: You're right. It seems that the newer M57T2 has the combined DPF + catalytic converter. Found the instructions. Will post them here soon...

Ok, this is what TIS says:

1) Remove the underbody protection
2) Remove the bottom reinforcement place
3) Remove the exhaust
4) Remove the DPF

Not so difficult I would say, but laborious.
I hope this helps.

when you say 2) Remove the bottom reinforcement place, is that the triangular silver colour one, I was worried, I thought that held something important on? How do I know where my dpf is, once the large plate is off I guess i see it?

It looks like it might be up higher, or can it be in the box in the centre of the car, if it is that one it doesn't come off, only the whole exhaust middle
