Hi, this may be a silly question but what does the M5 instrument panel do that the standard one doesn't?
nothing! it does absolutely nothing - it only takes your pounds !!! ... and gives a smell of feeling, that you ride M5 BTW, it is exact same result, which brings any of decoration, which being discussed here(excluding engine' remapping)

Not a silly question at all!

The M5 instrument cluster does absolutely nothing different. It just looks nice and once you start mods like this, there is no end.

M5 instrument cluster coded and installed. It is extremely nice.

AngeliBright v.3 AE's installed. Not sure if they were worth the coin, but they are different and I like them. I will check them out in the dark tonight if it stops snowing.

Next week, I will get a new fog lamp installed (ruined reflector, moisture inside the lens) and some ACS interior parts installed.

Then, I am almost done. I think.

Good stuff mate -- looking forward to seeing the pics. I love those M5 dials, I last saw them in person on Andy545's E60.

When you post up the M5 dial pics, maybe you could also upload some side-profile pics into your ACS Roof Spoiler post... thanks!

Crikey! Yes, pics... I uh, sort of failed with the roof spoiler picture taking! May I blame it on the weather?

Perhaps I will wait until I get the wheels and tires sorted, plus the ACS interior bits installed and then post pics of the whole lot!

But yes, they will be taken.

Fair enough! Here are two images, both of which look exactly the same as those you would find in any other thread about the M5 instrument cluster install or AngeliBright v.3 AE's.

However, I am here to contribute, so say your piece about my pics! I am happy to hear your comments!!

More will be coming later.

Looks great with the M5 cluster. I guess the redline automatically adjusts itself to " diesel standards" when the car is coded. Nice mod!

Thanks!

Actually, I think that the red/yellow-line was that low because the car was rather cold. It has been between -16?C and +2?C here today (-8.2?C now).

I have my garage floor heating turned down, so the temp inside there was a mild +4.5?C when I took the pics.

That said, on the drive home from BMW, the RPM gauge looked sort of silly... shifting at 2000 RPM.

That needle will never see anything higher than 4500 RPM, but so what!

Tomorrow, I will find a place in the trunk to safely store the original 530d instrument cluster, just in case it is needed.

Looks great -- have you got the needle round to 330 yet?
