Not in Scandinavia - here the ratio is 80-20 in favour of the Touring. Believe it or not!

I NA last couple years there have only been 500-800 per year vs the multiple thousands of sedans.

Now why would Scandinavians want a car with such a big boot?

LMAO! And no worries about the pic.

If I could have lifted up the floor, I would have taken pics of the wine and other liquor stored safely down there.

From reviewers I heard that the touring has harder rear suspension, This might be due to extra weight, over rear axel, (extra 90kg over sedan from memory) but it may just give impression being harder, but honestly, you cannot tell the difference.

If you have M Sport, (SE touring) then you also get in addition to sedan?

-high gloss exterior trim, (M sport).
-under-floor storage compartment, lockable
-Electric closing rear tailgate. Electric motor closes last 2cm to avoid having to slam it shut ? good when kids are sleeping in back seats.
-Rear tailgate glass opens instead of whole tailgate
-Rear storage cover slides up automatically, out of way when tailgate opens
-load space tied-down hooks
-12V electric point in load space
-Tailgate release switch in cabin, near accelerator pedal
-Open tailgate from key
-Large storage compartments either side or load space, behind wheel arches
-Net to cover main cabin, stops loads moving from load space to passenger compartment when loaded up to roof line
-Extra glass, rear quarter-light and ventilation
-Extra radio speakers in roof of luggage area
-Light in tailgate shines down onto floor illuminating loading area, in addition to lights in load space. Tailgate light also show red for approaching cars when tailgate is open
-Rear wiper, rear roof spoiler
-Roof rails.

excellent factual summary, many thanks; just the kind of thing I love to google over while awaiting the arrival of my new baby.

As to previous post on difference between options on the E60 vs E61, there's another difference in that the storage package for the E61 adds another small compartment under the floorboard as well as numerous straps and tiedowns for the cargo area

Well there are really 4 extra compartments back there
2 under the load floor ( for and aft of the load floor support)
1 on either side aft of the wheels next to the tail gate, one has the tools, the other the first aid kit and under that the Batt. still plenty of room for other stuff though ( tie downs , nets, Nav system, extra oil...)

The ones under the load floor have flip up dividers to keep stuff from rolling around.
On my car there are also some flip down hooks in front of the wheels to hook grocery bags.
In the USA the power tail gate /power up down cargo cover are part of the Premium package, where the non premium package cars have the power cargo cover up. Premium pack adds some extra puddle lights and auto dim mirrors with home link. Not sure about Europe.
