I had an E39 530D touring before this one and had that remapped.
I always said an estate car has no business being this fast.
When I bought this one it was quicker still.
Then had the DPF deleted and a remap done at the same time and it got even quicker.
Not it's just rediculous.

I've got cable shack cables and software. Had a couple of small issues but got them sorted.
I did use 7592130.
The sat dead still through the flashing. Didn't want to tempt fate and disturb a cable.
The programming went to 100% 4 times.
First time was rapid. Just a few seconds. The second run was probably a minute or so. Then a pop up came up and I just clicked it. Can't remember what it said.
Then it went up slower twice I think but faster than the second run on the first pair of runs.
After that it said programming complete or programming successful and it was done.
The whole car rebooted after the first pair and said something about gearboxes but I was too busy worrying to read it properly..and the dash display where the gear normally displays showed a gearbox fault symbol while it was uploading the big ones then another reboot at the end.
I should have filmed it but I was crapping myself that something was going to go wrong..

A big thanks to everyone who collaboratively came together to make this retrofit possible. I've finally completed a full SAT retrofit including paddles, coding and flashing. I can't be more excited here. I make it an effort to drive my car for no reason at because it's so much more fun to drive. Plenty of thanks to biz77 for taking the time to write up such a detail step by step instructions on how to code CAS and LMA modules and know-dice for the SAT flash.

Yes I had external power source. Just a battery trickle charger.
And just ignition on so key in and press start button without your foot on the brake pedal.

On the subject of shift paddles, it looks like you can't have it all:
32342283945 M steering wheel (heated and lane departure, NO SHIFT PADDLES)
32342283952 M steering wheel (NOT HEATED, lane dep, shift paddles)
32342283949 M steering wheel (heated, NO LANE DEPARTURE WARNING, shift paddles)
I guess if I HAVE to choose, I'll give up the heated steering wheel. I wear gloves in the winter anyway!

Just bought an E61 a few months ago and have been following some of the threads. Any chance you still have yours? Did you pursue and of the Sport Automatic Transmission upgrades? Thanks.

Just a couple of pics of while I was doing mine.
Bear in mind that I had coded everything else just not not updated the gearbox ECU software.
This is the UIF file that tells you the current software version and date.
This is found in INPA.
The WINkfp flashing screen. This is what it will look like when you are actually loading the file into the ECU. The little light on my cable was flashing like mad too while it was coding.
The loading bar goes up in 2 sets of 2.
The first 100% is just a few seconds. The second 100% takes a while. Maybe 1.5-2 minutes.
then a popup appears which I can't remember what it said but just press ok. You don't do anything else, It just starts automatically on the second set.
The second set is another 2 100% runs.
First 1 is very fast again and then the second takes longer but not as long as the second run of the first set.
After the second set of 2, you get a popup saying programming OK or programming complete. I can;t remember which. I'd been almost holding my breath all the way through just in case I disturbed a cable and bricked the ECU.
Once you click OK on this last popup, you're done.
Also. The whole car reboots a couple of times. i.e. the CIC display and the dashboard. Don't worry. I almost had to change underwear when it did it but mine when just fine in the end.
And your dashboard will look like this while it's happening.
It didn't display this straight away when I started flashing but it chimed and gave this display.
I did have the ignition on for the programming but it doesn't look like I did in that pic.
