Stage 2: have the car coded for SAT functionality (Sports mode, faster shift times etc.)
Let us know how easy/difficult it is to get SAT & sports button functionality from your dealer.

I have to admit, I should have updated this thread.
By doing stage 1, you actually get to experience the goodies of stage 2 without actually having had to go to the dealer. My austrian dealer was a bit to stubborn to do stage 2 but i have found a dealer in germany willing to do it... Regardless, the goodies you get from stage2:
- steering becomes more direct and heavy
- faster shift times in sports mode
- downshifting is so much more fun, it just sounds cool when you downshift in sports mode.
good luck guys with the retrofit...

definitely with Stage 1..
What functionality do you get just by fitting the "kit" but without invloving a dealer? Stage 1
What then do you achieve by going to the dealer? Stage 2
Many thanks,
David.

Without going to the dealer, you get:
- Faster shift times
- Direct steering
- downshifting with intermediate throttle application
By going to the dealer, you get the following addional features:
- when sports button pressed, "SPORT" being displayed on your speedometer
-in DS mode, with sports button pressed, you actually see which gear the car is in
that is all i can think of at the moment..
But guys beware - the dealer will not readily program this for you... You need a "open minded" dealer to this for you. Mine was not willing to do it, though like i said, i found one in germany, but it is a 3000km drive for me
greetings

Thanks for your speedy response.
I know a technician who works at a dealer so stage 2 might not be too much of a problem.
I take it that the trim piece over the console has to be replaced as the SAT aperture is a different size.
Also my car has the gloss black trim which sits immediatly under the aluminium gear shift cover - I think I am right in saying that in most models this piece is matt black.

David.
