Hi All

I am not a BMW owner. I'm a middle aged guy that windsurfs and enjoys 'spirited' rides on my sports bike through our local hills. I came across this page that was linked to a technology web site I read:

http://www.cbc.ca/canada/toronto/sto...iction658.html

I have read BMW550iFreak's thread to about page 6 and then stopped.

I just want to say what a bunch of sorry c**** some of you are. I agree that his act was dangerous and that there are times and places to do this type of thing. I applaud the few posters that posted constructive criticisms to deter the young guy. However, to the spanker that earnt him a record and got him known by the media is beyond me at the moment, only that you are pathetic.

He did the act, nothing happened, nobody got injured. If he was done by the police, then that is a fair cop. He would have been charged, but that did not happen either. So he came on here and boasted about it back in March (wow, that's history now !). This was objected. He agreed for the wrong doing. It should've ended there. Yet the troll posters continued to draw him like sharks to an injured seal.

Well, I hope the c*** that got him charged is happy now. This is your trophy for f***ing up some poor kids career. I don't believe for a second you did this for safety. It's all about your power trip and your command over the law to f*** everybody over. This moral abuse of the system on a international scale does far more damage to our legal system than any car crash in my opinion. I just hope one day somebody puts a nice big scratch up the side of your prized Beamer you f***ed in the head dick w**k. Congrats for making this international headlines too.

Sounds like you have about as much maturity as that young man from Cananda.

lol I agree. Nothing I hate more than a rat AND the thought of the Internet no longer being a place where you can freely express yourself without the fear of being locked up. Canadian police went too far and sadly BMW550ifreak plead guilty. He would have won in court if he didn't.

Best post yet, I don't think people realize the repercussions this will have on him...Employers often times will google you to find out information about you before an interview, what do you think they'll find if they google him now

I also agree, whoever sent this in clearly didn't do it for "safety reasons" We've all been young and dumb, but that's the point of life, you learn from these things on your own, not through the intervention of others

Yeah, for real, man, why would you just turn on us like this? You sure you don't have a second home Missouri or something?

They obviously haven't learned anything either.

C, you're too funny.
Ain't that the truth...

We want to prevent speeding, reckless driving and inexperienced drivers than why make an M5? Why make vehicles that go over 70mph? There are so many aspects to this story that really suck:
1) we're crucifying a 19 yo kid for driving an M5 fast and posting it on the Internet. What would you expect from a rich kid with a $100k rocketship. His parents should be lit on fire for buying him the car. We all know there's different kinds of 19. They should be the ones regulating it.

2) his face, home and family are plastered everywhere. Let's be clear he was speeding not committing rape or murder. There's no reason why he's getting this type of attention.

3) he was convicted of a crime based on claims he made on the Internet. That doesn't scare you?! What if you could be arrested for indecency for watching porn or got tint tickets in the mail for posting pictures of your ride? Should you be arrested for slander for saying Lindsay Lohan's a cokewhore on a gossip site? The big brother aspect of this is truly frightening to me. What happened to freedom of speech and expression?

4) I have no respect for anyone who hides behind the anonymity of the Internet to interfere in a person's actual life. It's not our responsibility to police assholes on the Internet. That's a full time job that would take 10 lifetimes to fix. We all told this kid to cut the shit, but that's where our responsibility ends. There's a million what if's in life and it's impossible to predict or prevent any of them. All this anonymous coward did was interfere in the way someone else chooses to live their life.

Believe me I know this kid is a complete idiot and would eventually get in trouble anyway, it's just not our place as people and as a community to report him to cops. I'm just sick of the government and fellow citizens using technology against us. I do see your point but I disagree. I'm just not willing to trade safety for freedom. Cheers . (this was way too long btw lol)
John, I don't wanna argue with you, bc I'm buying your spacers but you're taking this way too seriously. No one would've arrested him, unless there was evidence. I don't know if you read all the pieces and saw all the clips, but in one clip they stated specifically that once the complaint letter reached the local PD, LE's set out on foot through the area to find eye witnesses - and they were not hard to find. They actually interviewed a guy on camera - supposedly, Vlad's neighbor, who said Vlad flew by him when he was walking his baby with his wife (or something to that extent). Coincidentally, in that same clip, they showed his mother and she acted like she had no idea he was ever in trouble. But in the end, it was his community that was the deciding factor - people who saw him race through streets where their kids play spoke up. I would've spoken up too, if he did it on the street where my kids play!

Ok, I'm not saying it was the right thing to do, but I don't feel that this incident infringes on anyone's freedom in any way, bro. He was out of control and it was bound to end badly - better badly like this, than badly with several bodies in the morgue - no?

Sadly, I have a feeling this didn't do the trick of getting him to realize how dangerous he was acting...
