Whoever called the cops on this kid is the biggest piece of shit in the world. This kid is a grade A jerkoff but he's also 19 and hopefully will mature with time and experience. I'm sure this scared him but at what cost? You brought unwanted attention to our quiet little community from LE that continues to infringe on and eliminate our rights without the help of citizens. I don't give a fuck about what happens to this kid but, I do care when self righteous assholes decide to make judgements and try to police the personal actions and decisions of others. In short live your own life, mind your fucking business and stop acting like a bunch of clucking hens. "I swear it's not a world of men"

gotta love the school yard mentality of who tattled and who's for it and who's against it...

I see both sides...

as JOHN eluded to, it's his choice and let him learn as it his life

and on the alternative, if he continued the wreckless behavior and caused a fatal accident, not including himself, is their blood not on our hands as well for not intervening? especially considering the member's age, we've all read the story of the young driver in an M5 in Florida (IIRC) that did not respect the power behind his m5 and killed himself and the passengers in his car.....

that could be someone's family member on the receiving end, not sure how many of us are willing to take that chance....

either way, I hope bmw550ifreak has learned from this and will keep his aggressive driving to the track and out of the subdivisions.....

Well said Gene. Unfortunately our Canadian speed racer has obviously retained his poor attitude. He will prove to not have learned a thing from this. Where are his oh so loving parents? They love him so much to buy him an M5 but not enough to guide him thru this properly? I feel sorry for him as his parents have a great deal of culpability here. They obviously haven't learned anything either.

C, you're too funny.

JOHN, I can't say I agree with your attitude man. Like Gene said, would you rather the alternative?

Obviously the kid didn't walk away with a lesson from the original thread (as evident in his subsequent threads including the accident).

I mean, as much as I think "yah, it sucks to be him", but the reality is, it's consequences for his own actions. Furthermore, the more I think about it, I actually have to applaud the person that called it in. Think about it, most of us that admonished him, we obviously advocated safe driving, etc., but that's the extent of what we did. It takes someone that is willing to be more involved to actually plug into the system and have authority investigate into this.

For all we know, the person that called it in might've lost a family member due to reckless drivers like BMW550iFreak, and recognize the urgency of his actions more so than we do. At the end of the day, it's about weighing the pros and cons of a decision, and truthfully, I would rather the kid get fined, learn it the hard way (without injuring or killing someone) than say "oh he'll grow out of it" and do nothing.

well, I feel sorry for him...
but as others mentioned before, people think they are incognito on the forums(not only e60.net), this subject shows us the opposite..It's sad what happened but each his own..This is kharma! Do you know what have could happen,if he would still cruising around, drifting and acting like an asshole in his car?
Nobody knows..

My annoyance is with the tattle tail sniveling culture we've all become. Having the what if attitude is the opposite of what it is to have freedoms. It's a slippery slope. We want to prevent speeding, reckless driving and inexperienced drivers than why make an M5? Why make vehicles that go over 70mph? There are so many aspects to this story that really suck:
1) we're crucifying a 19 yo kid for driving an M5 fast and posting it on the Internet. What would you expect from a rich kid with a $100k rocketship. His parents should be lit on fire for buying him the car. We all know there's different kinds of 19. They should be the ones regulating it.

2) his face, home and family are plastered everywhere. Let's be clear he was speeding not committing rape or murder. There's no reason why he's getting this type of attention.

3) he was convicted of a crime based on claims he made on the Internet. That doesn't scare you?! What if you could be arrested for indecency for watching porn or got tint tickets in the mail for posting pictures of your ride? Should you be arrested for slander for saying Lindsay Lohan's a cokewhore on a gossip site? The big brother aspect of this is truly frightening to me. What happened to freedom of speech and expression?

4) I have no respect for anyone who hides behind the anonymity of the Internet to interfere in a person's actual life. It's not our responsibility to police assholes on the Internet. That's a full time job that would take 10 lifetimes to fix. We all told this kid to cut the shit, but that's where our responsibility ends. There's a million what if's in life and it's impossible to predict or prevent any of them. All this anonymous coward did was interfere in the way someone else chooses to live their life.

Believe me I know this kid is a complete idiot and would eventually get in trouble anyway, it's just not our place as people and as a community to report him to cops. I'm just sick of the government and fellow citizens using technology against us. I do see your point but I disagree. I'm just not willing to trade safety for freedom. Cheers . (this was way too long btw lol)
