Ok everyone....it's been a few weeks since I finished my bump stop cutting per this thread, and I wanted to update all on the ride so far. I have been driving my usual 56 miles to work each day for the past 3 days, and all I can say is, "My ride is better but still bumpy!"

It's better than before, but even off the bump stops (and an additional 1/2" drop), I feel every damn imperfection and bump in the road. I suspect it's mainly my 19's with the low-profile tires more than anything.

I will be going out soon looking for something else to drive, possibly a 550i or who knows what? The Pittsburgh Car Show is in town now, so maybe it will be a good idea to check them all out tomorrow. I can't imagine what I'd want, but I shall be searching. I think I'd hop on a GT-R if I could actually get one.

Hopefully I can find driving joy elsewhere.

I've read enough! I'm not going to lower the car. It sounds way to for me to lower the car with H&R springs. I just spent a @#$%load on modifications and am not about to throw another 2.5K into coilovers. I'm done dumping major modification money into this car. I plan on parting ways with this car before the warranty is over... (F10 in sight). It's got about 17K miles on it and I figure I'll get another 3-4 years out of it. Winter driving really sucks in Eastern Washington and the potholes are hell. I need the ability to throw my stock 17" wheels with Blizzaks on in the Winter, thus another reason why lowering won't work.

I'm thinking of selling my new 19" VMR V710's and purchasing some 18" VMR VB3's 8.5" front, 9.5" back). Anyone have 18" VMR VB3's with ET40 front, and ET45 rear? I know you are all thinking... crazy crazy...

This thread of mine has been resurrected! Um....no way would I recommend 18" VB-3's. They look way too small for this car. A few folks on here have done them in that size, and it just does not look right. I love your V710's!

If you want 18's, I say stick with the OEM 124's. From everything I've seen in 18" they still look the best.

I understand and completely agree with your point on not lowering the car, and will not be lowering mine for the same. My only question is why would you want to go down in size from your 19's?

I'm SO glad I took everyone's advice here and installed new Sport shocks / struts when I installed the H&R sport springs. WHEW!!!! =P

And I did it all for roughly..... $800 installed! Yay for finding deals.

Well... Does it look like a 4x4 with 19's not lowered? I hadn't thought about the VB3's in size 18 looking too small on the e60...

PS. Regarding the resurrected thread... It shows that some people do use the search function!!

IMO, you may make it look worse going down a size! I saw your pics, and while you may complete your look with a drop, I don't think it's necessary. Your ride looks great, especially in your color. Granted, it is a little high, but I don't know about you, but I don't want to be digging and cutting ANYTHING away from my suspension, ever. And I'm certainly not spending 2k on coilovers. But that's me. I am eagerly awaiting my install this week of my V3 19's staggered in hyperblack. They can't look any worse then the stock 17's I'm sporting now! Sorry for the thread hijack. Good luck man!
