I have a question, how many cars had a problem with leaking center pipe in the V8 motors (N62B44 and N62B48)?
Because it's not too long time ago, in my friend's shop, 745i came with leaking center pipe. This car has 90000 miles and look very clean inside and out. So guys had to use pipe in this link
http://www.allgermanauto.com/product/index.html
So I was reading before this is problem a lot to do with 7-series. Below chart for this pipe.

I did just have this done. Luckily my E65 was still under CPO. It seems like it's more of an issue with the 7-series. There's a whole bunch of owners who had this problem in the Bimmerfest forums under 7-series (E65/E66) section.

I wonder why is more 7 series then 5 series. May be bad air flow so engine a littler hotter then 5 series.

This is the first I have ever heard anyone state that the cooling center valley pipe leak is more prevalent in the 7 Series vs. 5 Series / E60? As far as I know it is the same N62 engines 545 & 745 and 550 & 750 ? I had the problem on my 545i at just 33K miles! Crevier BMW had my car for about 2 weeks as they have to drop the engine to get to the pipe and repair with the OEM parts as per BMW. It was covered then under warranty but now I have 77K miles on the car? so does that mean the gasket is due to start leaking again?

Has anyone totaled up all the repair costs on the E60 V8's/ N62 engines since they owned and posted ? Frightening thought
Then you can see if it's better taking the standard mileage deduction on your taxes or itemize? Any CPA's out there? LOL

This is why I wanted this topic to be in discussion section, but admin moved to parts. No good.
well as I posted it's a solution. But I'm also on bimmerfest, and I didn't see this problem so far for 545 and 550. My be onece for 545. So it might be more 7 series.
