I use the Sony NWHD1 (20gb hard disk) and it has a line-out mode and a headphone mode. The sound is good, I can also use a I-pod, mini-disc and CD and I will try this over the weekend.

Ok, let me get this straight, I have a UK spec 530d 2004, with bus nav, are you all telling me that I can get my IPOD integrated for less than ?120.00 and I will be able to control the ipod through my car controls?

Sorry if this has been answered already - but I just got really excited (sad, I know)

My Ride: 2004 BMW 545i, Olivin Green, w/Sports Package, basic stereo, chrome wheels, tinted windows, Bluetooth enabled with Moto V710 (Verizon), Sirius Sat Radio (aftermarket), Auxiliary Input for Ipod.

Nope. This is not part of that "IPod my BMW" feature. This aux input allows audio sources to be played through your radio. Yes. You will be able to play your IPOD but you will not be able to control your IPOD from steering wheel. Volume control Yes but not searching/skipping/etc.
