Sprint Booster all working well and test drive(s) complete. I wouldn't quite say it was "WOW", it is noticeable but not to the levels I was expecting based on feedback from this thread. Perhaps it's because I've already had the DMS remap done which takes away a lot of the lag? For my install I cut the carpet so I could hide the wires and unit. If you look you can see where it's been cut, but it's a lot less obvious than a thick black wire or black box.

Was it worth ?200 in terms of performance gain/difference? Hmmm not sure, if it was taken away I don't think I'd miss it much. Was it worth paying ?200 so I wasn't constantly thinking "oooh should I get one?" - yes, definitely.

Funny stuff about the warning light.

As for the so-so improvement, it's probably due to your DMS remap like you stated. It's definitely noticeable on my car. I had it removed when I took my car in for service and didn't put it back on till a week after and the difference is night and day. Having it on feels like I'm in P500 mode.

I know Vegastrashed and freed0m had the SB on on top of their remaps so maybe they can comment on how it felt.

Makes sense that not much of a noticeable difference was noted when a remap was already in use. Throttle response is one of the main things a remap does, aside from fuel timing, so I can see there not being a huge improvement over having the remap. However, for those that don't have a remap (which is a large majority of owners), this is a great mod to have and still worth every penny. And yes, it's still a WOW, assuming you don't have a remap.

Having done 100 miles or so since installing it this morning, I can say the biggest improvement is from around 20/30mph. You just nudge the accelerator and get pushed back - much more than previously. I like the effect and will be keeping it. As noted above, effects will be more obvious without a remap, but I would recommend that everybody gets one. It's (relatively) cheap and if you don't have one, we all do, so we are better than you, nur. I certainly don't regret getting it.

Great product reviews! Jerky throttle response, get pushed back with just a nudge on the accelerator, you get to cut your carpet, and get to dirve your car for weeks to learn how to smoothly accelerate. The WOW factor will come into play when somebody plows into the car in front of them. I can't wait to get this thing!

You forgot one more thing...

And when your wife says to you, the next time she drives the car... "Something feels different. God damn it, did you go and spend more money on this damn car again!!?!?!?! I'm going to kill you!"

Oh I WISH. Being Killed is SO much cheaper than having a car-fanatic wife (see signature, X5 is hers). When I arranged for DMS to come, she asked how much it was, I told her, she said "cool, are they doing mine as well". So far she hasn't asked whether the sprint booster will fit her car. I think seeing me with my accelerator pedal sitting on the driveway with a stanley knife cutting at the carpet put her off a little.

If I put a SB on the 550i I'd have to buy her a lexus or buick, she would freak out. I try just to do the reset every so often and use DS.
