Superhung, did you order an SB? I just got an email from PartsExporter stating that they only have 1 unit left but I wasn't sure if it was the auto or the manual version. After that he won't get another shipment till next week. Looks like 9 people jumped on the group buy already.

I e-mailed the guy there with the info that John posted up yesterday so I'm just awaiting his response to my questions. I was already under the assumption that they sold out though? alpinewhite posted he just purchased the 'last one'.

Just ordered mine!! I couldn't help myself you guys make it sound so appealing!!! It says on the Group Buy site:
Items left: 12
Time limit: by the end of October or all items are sold.
Note: Staring from 3 Oct 2007, the shipment time is about 2-3 weeks. Sorry about that.

So from that im guessing that they are still in stock but are now increasing the shipment time?!

Whatever...I can wait gives me something to look forward to!!

NICE. Andy had emailed me back saying that he was wrong, that they only sold 8 instead of 9 so I think you just go the 9th one. After yours, I think they will have to wait for another shipment.

...so had a SB installed on friday, after buying it from a local shop here in austria. my feedback: wow. everything the guys claim here is true. you do notice it, and unlike other forum members here, my g/f tried it out and she noticed immediately - considering it for her golf now

what i do have to point out for the skeptical people:
* fuel consumption is definitely more - afterall the SB does nothing more than take the digital value of the amout of pedal you are pressing, and multiplying it by a constant factor, which in turn increases the sensitivity of the accelerator. This affects people who do a lot of stop-n-go driving - they will notice a big differnce in consumption
* rear tire wear - this is particularly bad for the guys in the UK who often have wet roads and powerful diesel cars. becuase of the increase in sensitivity, your rear tires tend to spin more often (particularly when wet), and the dtc goes on more often. felt that on friday when it was wet... i guess, a bit more tire wear goes hand in hand...

otherwise, a definitely fun toy to have - go for it...

Wow...I leave for 4 days and this thread is already this deep. It's also nice to know that everyone went out and bought the SB. My selling skills are still sharp.

I'm not really good with machine
How did you guys install SB to your car?
is the installation difficult?
Can we ask BMW dealer to install it instead of doing it by ourselves?
Thanks.
Yoko.

Dude, if you can work a screw driver you can install this thing. Seriously just unscrew the gas pedal at the floor board, lift upward on the pedal. Unplug the pedal & plug in the SB. Be sure to match up the #1 pins & re-attach the gas pedal. Enjoy!
