Aşama 1: sadece SAT kolunu ve ECU'yu SAT işlevi yok
Aşama 2: Aracın SAT işlevi için kodlanmasını sağlayın (Spor modu, daha hızlı vites değiştirme süreleri vb.)
Aşama 3: kürek değiştirici güçlendirme
Aşama 1'in bu hafta sonu yapılması gerekiyor. Aşama 1'in işe yarayıp yaramayacağı konusunda 50/50'yim. Mühendislik geçmişim bana, ECU'nun üzerinde çalışan bir bellenim olmadığı için çalışmaması gerektiğini söylüyor, bu yüzden çalışmayacak. Bakalım - daha sonra gelecek..

My Ride: Current 2010 535xi Wagon; Past 2010 535i Sedan
Model Year: 2010
Greeting all, Current status: 2010 E61 535xi LCI with xHP Flash stage 2 gearbox tune and XDelete (2wd). Goal: I'd like to do a SAT mod - update the gearbox software to GKE 215, replace shifter and to install M5 steering wheel.
Quesiton:
1. Before doing a gearbox software update, do I have to return everything back to stock - activate X drive back again and to flash backup back again bringing gearbox to stock mode?
2. Will I have any issues flashing the gearbox with stage 2/ stage 3 or doing an XDelete after updating gearbox with GKE215?
...some of you guys might have seen, but on day 1 I took my car apart and did the m5 retrofit. My car is now a week old and my confidence is sky high so I went to the dealer on wednesday and ordered the following parts that I picked up today
Stage 1: retrofit just the SAT lever and the ECU with no SAT functionality
Stage 2: have the car coded for SAT functionality (Sports mode, faster shift times etc.)
Stage 3: paddle shifter retrofit
Stage 1 is due this weekend. I am 50/50 on whether stage 1 will work. My engineering background tells me, it should not work because the ECU has no firmware running on it so it will not work. Let us see - more to come later..
wish me luck

that is the stock auto for that car. My 535i xdrive came with that trans stock. And its a made out of glass i damaged my clutch packs inside the tranny using it in manual mode. Be careful.
I will do my best to help out. This was my successful process for retrofitting the SAT hardware, flashing the SAT firmware and coding the $2TB options to the appropriate modules.
This assumes you have fully functioning NCS Expert and WinKFP with known good complete Daten files for the E60 chassis.
Step 1: Retrofit SAT hardware to car.
Step 2: Flash SAT to EGS using WinKFP.
-Load Winkpf software
-Press (F1) comfort mode
-Press (F3) Update ZUSB
-Choose ECU: GKE215<-- This may not be your ECU. Double check before proceeding.
-Press (F2) Choose ZUSB
-Choose ECU GKE215 and next to it there will be ZB-Numbers..Find 7601458 <-- Be sure this is the correct ZB number for your car!!! This particular one is known to work on LCI 535i and 535i XDrive cars.
-Click ok
-If you have done it correctly so far you will see at the top Assembly Identification number 7601458<-- Again this may be different for your particular car.
-Press (F4) Enter VIN (make sure you double check you have entered the correct VIN numbers).
-click ok
-Press DONE (F8)
-Press (F3) Program
-Pop up window will say you can code the ECU 63 more times, click ok
-Flashing begins and you will have to wait until it reaches 100% twice. The first bar will finish rather quickly and then the next one will take 3-4 minutes.
-If everything is done correctly, then you will get a pop up screen saying programming done, click ok
At this point you will have firmer and quicker shifts that hold longer into the rev range when you engage the "Sport" button. When you move the lever over into sport/manual mode you will see S1, S2, S3 etc. In manual mode with "Sport" engaged you will have much quicker upshifts and downshifts with the better rev-matching. You will still have a rock hard steering wheel with "Sport" engaged. You will not have "SPORT" displayed in the KOMBI and you will have a string of errors if you look in INPA relating to coding mismatch. These errors do not show up on the dash or in iDrive.
Can someone confirm that SAT retrofit works with xdrive cars especially on E61 LCI?
There's always the option to go with the plain 'ol sport wheel 32346774125 that supports all three...
I have this exact steering wheel installed in my car currently. Looking at the wiring diagrams and reading tons of posts on this, looks like for it to work, one needs to run couple of wires from SZL 16 Pin connector (Pins 12,13) to a connector in DME electronics and then to Mechatronics connector. Please correct me if my illustration has any discrepancies.
SZL 16pin connector
From here to the connector inside DME (The location of this connector is a bit confusing as the SIB shows a different one than the TIS) [Pins 10D, 11U] TIS
SIB
From here, you need to run another set of wires to mechatronics unit Pins 4D,5U
My next question is, many SAT retrofits show running those two wires directly to SAT "blue connector", does this work if SAT is retrofitted to a E60/61 xDrive cars? If it can be, can we bypass all the above steps to get this working? Is there a blue connector already present in normal non SAT units?
Have been reading this very very long thread and noticing everyone is connecting Pin13 of SZL to GND while the wiring diagram shows it being connected to Pin5 of mechatronic unit and for that Pin5 the description doesn't say it being connected to GND there.
