Hi everybody, my first post...
My car has an auto gearbox with, from factory, the DCT shifter and a sport steering wheel with paddle shifters. I have to push to downshift and pull to upshift, the same on both sides.
I would like to have the SMG style : downshift left, and upshift right.
This mod is very easy if your shifter has 3 wires, but I have 4 wires...
I think I have to invert the 2 center wires, but not sure... any confirmation or idea ?

Hi. I have a couple of questions about this retrofit. I want to install the steering wheel paddles only (sport (not M) with paddles push pull). I already read all of the 931 posts in this thread and I belive I know how tho wire the paddles. The only thing that is not exactly clear to me is the coding.
I do not want the SAT shifter! ONLY PADDLES!
How would I code them?
Is this correct?:
- remove $205 and add $2TB in CAS and LMA ?
- Edit .TRC file of EGS (change paddles =WERT_01) ???

Correct! When I did mine... I only have the paddles... No SAT. However, when coding... still need to change the Vehicle Options in CAS and LMA to the $2TB. After doing that, my paddles worked. I did not have to change the paddles WERT_01. To my knowledge, when people are installing SAT, but no paddles, they code $2TB and that will automatically have paddles turned on. They would need to go in and change the WERT to off. Doing just the paddles, should have no need to change that... should already be on after coding.

And the clock ring does not have to be replaced correct? Only the steering wheel with paddles and thats it? (+ the wireing of course)

My Ride: 535xi work in progress
I have In 08 535xi and I did nearly the same. Went from heated sport to non heated sport with paddles lci with leather insert. ran my wires, made the heated wheel not active, and every time I try to code in paddles to wert 01 it doesn't do it. Now if I code the vo to $2tb and remove $205 it goes to wert 01 and can't be changed, but on either option the paddles don't respond. I'm pretty sure I wired them correctly so that's not the problem. I'm also showing an error on airbag/restraint system now.
