yes,
thanks. But I dont see how it will work with the TV function on the E60 model ? (BMW 5-serie). Do you have a manual or something ?
I had the message from BMW that they are working on a AV connection for the TV function.

Those parts are for the rear entertainment package.
But...: If they can get this to work, there must be a way to get it to work w/o the rear entertainment package.

Iceman,
Is the digital settop-box ordered through my dealer or is it from a third part company? And, to make it completly clear for me; can I install the settop-box in my pro-nav car w/o having the oem tv-tuner? And if it's possible; does it come with the cool remote that you have? I don't care about the analog stations because the stations are broadcasting digital through the air here. And finally if the remote didn't come with your car from factory, where is the ir reciever placed?
Thanks!

The remote is part of the settop box.
The settop box is from BMW. I don't know the manufacturer. So, it has to be ordered through the dealer.
The box is sending it's signal to the TV tuner on channel 65. Therefore I think the TV tuner is needed but don't know for sure.
The signal is a regular FABS Video signal. The CCC converts it into RGB. Maybe you can connect the settop box to the CCC using the connection that is used for the TV tuner. Since you don't have the TV tuner this connection should be available... But all that are questions that I can't really answer for sure.
Technically I think it should be possible to connect the settop box instead of a TV tuner. But that is something the dealer should know.

I've just called BMW and they will get back to me asap.
They allready confirmed it once, the settop box has an input. Indeed there is an input left and in the menue you can chose it. But my dealer called his tech support hotline and they told him it's not possible. Maybe they only checked for the AV Input from the rear entertainment package - but this is also possible, just the parts are n/a for non-Individual cars as of now, AFAIK...
Anyways, they will get back to me asap and let me know who's wrong here. I bet my dealer is BSing me...
I will also ask them if the install of the settop box is possible w/o the TV tuner.
