Iceman,
you mentioned that your dealer will test the inputs on the AV system. Has this been done already?
some stupid id If you talk about to video inputs, maybe there is one output for another screen

Had a look at a X5 today that comes with the AV IN/OUT connector in the rear console ( comes with euro cars with pro nav and TV function )
and it plays DVD on the frnt screen when stationary and the out will play even when in motion on a connected monitor
The sound is mono though, unless you run a cable to thr AUX input which is stereo.
You connect it up with 3.5mm jacks, but apparently the connection is reversed from normal 3.5mm jacks so you need a special cable which is available on the net ( do a search for "X5 AV input" on google) or need to modify one
Here is one such cable http://www.sonyxplod.co.uk/product.asp?product=19812
A thread on the reversed inputs http://www.bimmerboard.com/forums/posts/12294
Another thread on cable http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/archive/i...hp/t-77742.html
According to the above thread the following cable works without modification

My friend uses a 3 RCA to 1 3.5mm jack cable ( from a sony handycam ), and uses the yellow RCA for video and the white RCA for mono sound.
He puts the NAV in AV inout and can watch the dvd on the nav while stationary, and the kids watch it on the portable dvd player all the time, sound comes through the normal speakers.
He says the AV OUT takes the same type 3.5mm jack, but it is on all the time, not just when stationary. So you just need a cable that is compatable with the screens you want to put in
Here is a pic of the AV IN/OUT ( Its number 3 )
