I have a professional GPS system. I want to install a digital TV tuner from BMW.
1. Does somebody have a retrofit manual for this ?
2. Is this digital tv tuner stereo ?
3. does this have teletext ?
4. Can I play the TV to my screen at the rear site ? also when driving.
5. Does this have Audio and Video inputs ? if no, how can I have them ?
6. Does somebody knows how to play TV when driving ? What the code is to change ? A manual or something

Good, pro nav is required!

1. the dealer/it comes with the settop box

4. pic is on left (main) side, not possible on smaller right screen. When driving, it is sound only, no pic. But there is a module coming this December from Hamann, what enables it, so you can then have the pic displayed while driving (for the passenger of course!)
5. My dealer is checking that! In the menu (settop box menu) it says "Activate AUX Input!, so it looks like it is possible to add a DVD player or something else!
6. Only possible in the near, very near, future! No software or code! Just and only possible with hardware - I will get the part from Hamann somewhen in December, I am on their waitlist! It is a simple cable with a little box/piece in the middle (what does the trick). You unplug the monitor, and connect the cable and the monitor again with the new cable, what you just place in between... AFAIK... That's the only way...

Thanks for the info, but just some questions:
1. Does somebody have it already on softcopy ?
4. is there a possiblitlty to show it for the rear passengers ?
5. can you tell me when you have it ? Is there also an RGB output forseen in the future ?
6. So when I read number 4 and I read number 5, this means that I dont need the hardware bow between

It is not really mentioned on the website of Harman. Does somebody has a direct link ?

I don't know if it is possible to add rear screens, but why shouldn't it...
The pic is given out to the left (main) side of the idrive screen, and yet doesn't work when the car is in motion. But Hamann is offering a module what allows watching while the car is in motion. You can find it here, if you click on "f?r BMW" "5er" "Interieur". The first position is the module.
This module will be available in December.

It lists the TV stations it receives and right behind the name of the station you find the name of the currently show/movie. In front of it is the time when the show/movie ends.
