Rear view mirror compatibility

Does anybody know which rear view mirrors are compatible with the e60?
I have the rain sensor and alarm LED and I'm looking to upgrade to a mirror with auto-dimming also. I have seen alot of cheap mirrors on ebay for the e39 etc and I wonder if they would fit?

I have read that I can just splice into another 12v wire, but I would prefer to have all of the proper wiring in place as I have auto-dim wing mirrors which I hope to get working one day. Will the retrofit cable provide the necessary wiring for this?
Is it likely that I may have the wiring in place already. I have taken the mirror off and the connection plug currently only has 2 wires in it. (I will post a photo later)
