One more question on the DVD player. Does it come with the 12V lighter plug or do you have to purchase that separate?

Can you purchase the brodit mount online. If yes please give us the link.
Also in the review of the Next base dvd player the player doesn't seem to have a hole underneath for thumb screw attachment. How do you get it on the mount.
Many Thanks
Kyriacos

The hole where the battery pack screws on is a standard tripod thread, the brodit clamp has this to fit it, it won't screw on with the battery attatched as the battery has no screw hole on the bottom of it.
I had to get the brodit uk importers to order the bracket from sweden for me, it was worth the two week wait, they are called Nemesis GB ltd, tel 0870 777 5530......did it all over the phone, great service.
lastly, my dvd came with 12v lead, mains lead, headphones and two way splitter, battery, av out lead to play it throug a regular tv, remote control and two cases, neoprene for the player and nylon for the accessories.

For the U.S. guys (and gals)....Proclip, our U.S. distributor, can order this product but you need to call them. Also I found a 7" Audiovox (tablet style, top load) unit at Circuit City for $269...that supports wireless headphones (purchased separately at about $35 each)
Audiovox also makes a 10? unit but I thought that may be a bit big

I have a similar Audiovox unit for the minivan.
The only bummer is that it doesn't have a threaded mount on the bottom that would work with that cool bracket DD has.
Anyone know of a way to use that bracket with a unit that has no hole on the bottom?

Uh oh...hmm I'll have to wait for my bracket to arrive to see if it'll work...if nothing else I guess I'll have to go with a different style of player. Well once the bracket gets here I'll post my findings

Here's a link to the one I have. (Purchased at Best Buy.) (It's a region 1 player only.)
It's really nice -- the speakers on the side detach for use in the car. In the car, you can use the infrared wireless headphones or the included FM transmitter. It has a canvas sleeve that has hooks/straps that allow you to suspend it between the seats of the minivan.
When not in the car, I sometimes use it on the desk of my home office. It has a TV tuner in addition to a built-in DVD player so I can watch just about anything while I try to get some work done. It has a hinged stand for use on a table or desk and it has "keyholes" for mounting it on a wall.
For the E60, if I can figure out a secure way to use that nifty bracket, an added benefit is that the DVD's load from the top and not the side...
