The quality of the headers is good. I might get in there with a grinder and smooth out a couple welds, but aside from that I think they will be an improvement over the OEM exhaust manifolds. Can't wait to get these installed. I'm may install them myself.

In the process of setting up an appointment to get my car baselined again before the installation since I've made some changes since my last dyno run.

Anybody opposed to using header wrap other than the fact that it's ugly?
West, why not creamic coat the headers? Looks a lot better than header wrap

Can't wait to see the hp improvement.

Just got back from dropping the car off at the shop to get the headers installed! The following will be performed on the car over the next day:

- Dyno the car with the OEM exhaust manifolds (DynoJet)
- Install the headers (in-turn removing the cats)

After the headers are installed, I'll drive the car a mile or so to the exhaust shop. When the car is there, they will:

- Fabricate sleeve-type collector reducers to butt up to my existing magnaflow setup.
- Weld bungs on both header collectors so the pre-cat sensors can be fixed to the new system
- Extend the pre-cat sensor wires so they reach the new bungs
- Tie the post-cat sensors off to the side somewhere (maybe find simulators?..dunno yet)

Once that is done, I'll drive the car back to the shop that installed my headers and we'll do the following:

- Dyno the car with the headers (DynoJet)

Haha, you're right...so very excited. 'Violently Happy' might be an appropriate description of my current state.

I'll definately post the dyno results. Hopefully this shop will give me the overlayed (before/after) results in a .JPG format like the last shop did. That would be cool.

...here are a couple "before" photos. The technician was removing the motor mounts when I dropped by so the original exhaust parts were still in tact:

You guys can thank John at Carb Connection for the following photos. Every now and then you encounter that individual who gets it. John gets it. Not only that but he has a great deal of knowledge working with BMW's and also understands that some of his customers want to learn and witness their car being transformed. John was kind enough to invite me to the shop to let me hang out, take photos, watch, and learn. These iPhone photos are a testament to the quality of his work and his willingness to share the specifics of installing headers on the v8 e60. Thank you John.

Lowering the tranny a couple inches along with the sub-frame gave John enough space to get at the exhaust manifolds from below:

Not long after, he removed the passenger and drivers side exhaust manifolds:

Here is a comparison between the OEM manifolds and the Supersprint headers:

Just for fun I slid the OEM manifolds on to the cat-back system :
