Hi everyone. I just installed the iPod integration kit in my 2004 545i and it is awesome. The iDrive works like the iPod click-wheel when scrolling through music. There are a few things that I don't like about it though. If you decide to sort all of your music by artist, it lists all songs by that artist without album sorting. For instance, I have every Jay-Z CD on my iPod. When I click Jay-Z to pull up all of his songs, there is no album sort within the Jay-Z folder. All of his songs are listed in order of alphabetized album name. I have to sort through 100+ songs until I find the 1st song of the album I want to listen to. This might be confusing but I am trying to make it simple. Basically, when you click the artist, all of the artists songs are listed in one folder instead of by album. Also, when you first start the car, it takes a while for the iPod to start depending on how many songs you have. I have over 7000 songs so it takes about 30 seconds before the music starts. All in all, these are small inconveniences for a cool system. I have CD-quality sound, all of my songs, seamless integration, the "cool" factor of all of my music on my screen, and all of it is out of sight. Well worth the investment. If anyone has any questions, just reply to my post and I will try to be as detailed as possible.

I wonder what the chances will be of the BMW Ipod interface working with the new iPhone slated for a June 2007 release?

That would be nice if I could use the Bluetooth in the car as well as the Ipod on the iPhone at the same time.

Ok, back to reality. Once I buy the new $599 iPhone, I can almost GUARANTEE that neither the BMW Bluetooth nor the Ipod interface will work with the iPhone.

It is VERY likely that the iPod functions of the iPhone will work with the BMW interface.

Regarding the phone (did they remember to include a phone in the iPhone? ), it's at least 80% likely to work as a phone but 50% likely to have transfer of phonebook and 25% likely to show signal strength.

Is that for AUX port or IPOD Interface Kit?

This is for the interface kit that replaced my 6 CD Changer in the glove box. I have rear heated seats, I don't think I get an Aux port...
