Any news on ordering a new iDrive knob with the leather insert (from the new 7 series?).... I read a while back that some people here were researching a part number? Is there any other option for replacement? something a little more substantial? I was able to take mine off - just wondering...

Thanks in advance.

Phester, if you can wait a bit, you can order the I-drive off the 2006 5 Series. Spy Shots show it having the leather insert instead of the solid metal one. IMHO, I like the metal one better than the leather insert. I will have to see it in person.

It should be out by September and should be a direct fit replacement.

Regards,

Mike
