Are you referring to the size of the heat sink that was found on the aftermarket LEDs. Thats so big because its got more than one resistor in there in fact it probably has atleast 3.
My resistor should good for the turn indicators because of the short usage and thats the reason the resistor is on a separate long cable so that it can be screwed to the body or at least somewhere far away from other plastic parts.

A smaller 1 will do the join just fine. But if itis for the red bit then it will need a big heat sink.

The ebay 1s are led in the red part and OEM are bulbs in the red part.

probably more LEDs light up when brakes are press. LEDs dont' really get any brighter after reaching its optimum brightness--it will burn out.

I came across an 3 pin LED flash blinker fix on ebay and was woundering if that would be a solution to the flashing LED during the inital start? If anyone would knowledge to this fix instead of an resistor to the hook up of the NEW LCI taillights its much appreciated. 
Will this solution work??

using a resistor set up....LEDs will be very dim if the current is less than optimal. however, LEDs don't get dimmer as linear as a light bulb. it goes from very dim to bright or bright to very dim without the big fading effect. the aftermarket LED might might use a resistor circuit in which more current will power the LED when 12v is used and less current when 6v is enabled. since resistance value is the same, bigger/lesser voltage will allow less/more current for LED. however with bmw oem it most likely use an LED driver circuit. with the driver it still can accept different voltages (6v or 12v).....the output current will still be constant value--this means the LED will be same brightness regardless of voltage input.

cos I have installed blue 1feet and 2feet LED inside the car and when I close my door all my blue led dim down, like the bulbs.
