Bruce wasn't there an extra pin? Maybe that is the brake function? Just a guess.
However the best part of making your own cables is you can mix and match to what you want the car to look like !!

However because the bulb is still there in the background it looks as though the brake light is on all the time.
When brakes applied it doubles the lighting on the outter bulbs while the other two inner bulbs (on each side) are not affected.

I seriously doubt this but as I said if someone with an LCI car shows up what their backside (pun not intended) looks like we can compare ours with that.

Is there anyone out there with a E46 Saloon / Sedan who's done the LED retrofit and is able to show us how that cable looks like? If the connectors on either side are whats needed then all thats needed is the resistors and capacitors soldered into the it and realigning the wires as needed. I don't want to order another incorrect cable so would appreciate the help.
Spig I think that photo is taken at a camera angle that doesn't show the background red light. Nick how does your taillamp look?

I don't know what it will happen, when fog lights and DRLs (on LCI) are both on, during daylight

See what I mean....the old tail lights are not illuminated, just the bars and circle light. That's how I thought I saw an LCI the other day, until it braked and then the brake lights shone through the bars.

If yes, then DRL is on and brakes applied on LCI US specs in that picture

Nick, it seems, Spiq is right. I just got it installed per your updated pin table list. No errors, from first point looks right. But Spiq is right, we have 2 stop lamps ON all the time. Something not right
CHeck that out:
cleary shows our install is wrong. Spiq's is right.
