Calton, are you doubting me? ECU remap takes only 50 minutes. We can ship it out the same day so you get it tomorrow. Each way is about 30 bucks for overnight. Please check with GQuK545i who shipped his from New Orleans... a satisfied customer. We have dyno results to prove it too! I will be on Vincent's ass on these things.
Not saying it's a bad deal by any means, as I like Eurorev (That's where my Hamann Splitter is from , but some folks on the east can't go without their cars for 2+ days and depend on it to get to work. That all being said, it would just be easier to have it done locally. If you can go without your car for a few days, then feel free to use any company that does these remaps.

One more option possibly. Member Ziering545I now owns an '08 M5 and just happens to own the company called EuroTek Designs....at http://eurotekdesigns.com/
It's a tuning company for Formula 1 cars, etc. He told me they've done over 200 M5's with gains of 25HP and 25 FtLbs. of torque with increases of 2-4 mpg. I am not sure if he does 530, 550's etc. but you could always drop him a line. He has a very high opinion of his work compared to other chip tuners and is an avid racer and enthusiast...and a software engineer.
I plan to have him do my ECU, and here's the best part for you NY guys. His company is based in Bronxville, NY.

Guys we are expensive compared to others but our primary markets are the mega buck italian exotics and professional motorsports teams for the Gran Am, Rolex 24 GT2 class and other sanctioned classes. We build the tools to interface ECU tuning and have many achievements in development. We have our own enginnering staff in house and a new multi million dollar development center in Germany. We dont resell other peoples files.
I just picked up my M5 and we are working on some new tools at the moment and will be jumping into the BMW stuff soon at an affordalbe price for everyone. Our goal is to impact the N54 customers offering a flashloaded device that is non existent in the market now.
We dont open ECU units and desolder anything over 90% of tuners use this method still.
Anyone in FL stop by our race facility anytime. All others we will sponsor the boards soon when race season calms down and we can put some dedicated attention to retail clients.

Sounds good. My interest is definitely peaked. Dont forget about us lowly 550 owners too.
