Since the day I retrofitted CIC, I upgraded it to SSD which was the reason for my issues when I virginized CIC and tried to import and acitvate FSCs for navigation / map update. Once I replaced it with original IDE as a last ditch attempt, it started working. So, I did all my map updates on IDE and then recloned it onto SSD which is what I am using now.

Eitherway, activating 6NR looks like a black magic that is only done by few select elite members while charging north of $500 and is done in a matter of minutes remotely once all the hardware is in order. Not going to pay that much for a few minutes of coding especially when these cars are becoming soo old. This should have become free DIY by now.

I wanted to get this title / thread created...

There is so much out there about retrofitting... For E60.... This was a little more difficult since I purchased a 2014 Combox....

I will be posting all kinds of things pictures.. etc for the weeks to come... My retrofit is about 50% Complete... As there's so many parts out off the car...

I will go into as much detail as possible and provide files etc...

If anyone needs any coding help.. please do not hesitate to ask... (Remote Connect via Teamviewer)

For the E60 Model... You need so many parts... I still have not connected my other antennas...Red and black... I know the black one is the bluetooth antenna.. I have a lot of pictures to take and a lot of information to source / go over ....

This will be a very detailed thread... and I will be posting complete instructions including hosting the necessary files and providing support if anyone needs help (Remotely)...... This includes coding.....

Please be patient...

In all seriousness this was harder than changing the solenoids / filters / parts on the Transmission.....

When this post is all said and done... I hope it can save someone else the countless searching and up to 50 Website Tabs that I generally have open on any single day.....

More to come....

If anyone needs any coding help... etc please do not hesitate to contact me...

Please be patient......

i was going to do the same but got and Android system and love it.. you can do anything ur phone can and more. Even have sone bmw tools installed on it.

Does anyone happen to have the password for this? As the OP hasn't been online since July, unfortunately.

Hi Guys,

I have the combox retrofitted with the CIC unit. All was coded and delivered to me and I fitted it in.
However my car is an E60 2005.
The issue is that, whilst playing the songs via Bluetooth, on the CIC it just displays

"Unknown Album"
"Unknown Artist"
"Bluetooth" or "Various" for the title of the song

On my X5, it shows perfectly fine, and there is another section "Entertainment Details/Info" which comes up when you press the option button.

But the "Entertainment Details" heading is missing from the E60, its not there.

The combox was coded using an SSD file.

Has anyone else come across this issue, is there something missing in the coding section?

My car only came with MULF 2.

Or is this a faulty combox unit?

Any help greatly appreciated guys
