Ah! I don't see the ones with AFE results?
I would really like to see ones with AFE even with DINAN. Why all RPI?

None of the cars here have AFE products because they know better and most of these guys were here when we dyno'd the AFE car.
We've already dyno'd the AFE intake systems 3 times. Why do it again? PLEASE READ: http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/e60-m5-e6...yno-review.html
If you read that, you probably wont have to ask the same question again.

M5s have different numbers because of engine variance and because of how the cars are driven. The ECUs learn driving style, etc. The customer that dynoed 383whp does not drive the car hard at all.

Easy explanation. Rambird, having gotten his M5 recently, drives it hard and often whereas JC58 rarely ever drives his. When JC58 does drive, he babies his M5. Remember folks, the car learns your driving habits and makes the adjustments accordingly.
Now, with EM_5, he's having an exhaust leak that will soon be prepared. Adjustments were made by an exhaust shop other than RPI.

These are great stats to go off of, but I'm a bit confused by these numbers:
1. How does Rambird(#3), who is "bone stock", have more RWHP than JC58(#4)? 20 more, to be exact?
2. ALTANertive is getting 8 more RWHP than EM_5M5? Both have section 3's, but ALTANertive is running the Arqary exhaust. Is that exhaust offering up 8 additional ponies at the wheel??? Really?

1) ALTANertive M5 (415, Arqary exhaust, RPI ram air intake)
3) Rambird M5 (403, bone stock)
4) JC58 M5 (383, RPI ram air intake)
8) EM_5M5 (407, RPI ram air intake and section 3)
11) Danny0h M5 (425, RPI ram air intake, Powerchip/RPI tune, RPI pulley, Radenergie section 1, 2, 3 exhaust)
3) Rambird M5 (403, bone stock)
4) JC58 M5 (383, RPI ram air intake)
8) EM_5M5 (407, RPI ram air intake and section 3)

Interesting! do you mean to drive hard = gain more HP? I didn't know it.

BTW, how would you describe driving a car hard? By always being in P500S mode or like me, I'm mostly in P400 mode as I'm usually in traffic but I usually stay in a lower gear and have my rpm between 4K - 5K most of the time.

Yes, I was the one with 407 hp. For the record, my car dyno'd with the exact same setup at RPI a few weeks before and consistently got 412 hp. The only difference is that I (brain-freeze, ignorant, naive...) had the sec 3 welded in because I wanted the tips about another 1/2 inch out and wanted to fix a minor leak... remember, with the leak, I got 412 with just CF delete, Ram Air, BMC's and section 3 from RPI. No other mods (yet). By welding in the exhaust, the shop put an irregular bend on both sides of my exhaust. Once RPI saw this when my car was loaded on the dyno, he already said that it may be a problem. Bingo... that coupled with the 90+ temps caused a drop in 5-6 hp at the wheels for me. I will rectify the exhaust problem and re-dyno. I have confidence that I will get the 412-414 (after leak fixed and pipes corrected) once again.
Rambird's dyno run was also in the morning, where the temps were a good 20-25 F degrees cooler than when my high noon runs were performed. True the dyno compensates, but the heat soak @ high noon may/will cause the ECU to de-tune to protect the vehicle. That, no dyno can compensate for. RPI have seen many many M5's dyno baseline stock at anywhere between 385-395 ish.
NOTE: Remember guys, most of these numbers posted were done in SHOOT-OUT mode on the dyno, and were not raw numbers. Mine was, because I requested for it. Shoot-Out mode basically adds or subtracts HP from a baseline M5 that dyno'd from the same day (the first one, I'm guessing?). This is for purposes of comparing one car to another. So if the original car that everyone is based off of was off, everyone will be off (hard numbers wise) in relation to that car. RPI, correct me if I'm wrong.
