I recommend you get your battery programmed, although the car will run fine with the new battery without programming it the alternator will be thinking the battery is old and thus will not charge it appropriately thus shortning the life of your new battery quite a bit. Is just not worth the not paying the dealer to program it and at the same time they will remove whatever internal faults your car has which you don't know of until you run it through their scanner.

You could buy a cable and probably program it yourself. Search ebay for:
