e60 545i battery replacement recommendations
hi everyone. i've done some searches and haven't really found what i was looking for.
i need to have my battery replaced on my e60 545i. does anyone have any suggestions on which options i have? would prefer an optima battery but worried about fitment, sears and pepboys and autozone doesn't have anything listed for this car.
thanks in advance.

Is it still under warranty? if so you might be able to get a free one from BMW. Otherwise, i think Interstate makes one that fits the E60.

Just be sure that the guys that replace it know what they are doing. I've read of some weird stuff happening to the iDrive on the forum, if the battery replacement isn't done correctly.

My Ride: 07 BMW 525i Premium Package, Xenon Lighting Package, manual Transmission. Titanium Grey, 20% Tint around the back, 70% V-Kool on front.
Planned mods: Style 71 wheels with Toyo Proxy 4 tires, Sachs suspension upgrade, upgraded stereo, and many more to come.
just make sure the one you get has a vent tube
don't have experience changing out the e60, but changed out the x5 battery at autozone and it cost like $140.
the e60 seems to be more a standard size so kind of suprise you don't find replacement.

Hey I just had mine replaced.
The "eye" on the battery was brown and I was getting error messages, actually fault messages.
So I went into BMW and just put up a bitch about how much crap I am dealing with this battery.
I went to the shop manager and basicly told him to put in a new battery or I'm calling BMW North America and give his shop 1's across the board.
After my rant in his office, he went out to my car, talked to the service department guy (who are awesome btw) who always helps me, and told him to put in the battery and the shop will cover the expence.
So....if you want to go that route it's an option

Hi, I had mine replaced few months ago. I bought a duralast 94R-DLG from autozone at $140. You can return the core and receive $12 from them.
Just make sure you hook up the vent tube correctly. Once battery is re-connected, iDrive will show an error message of active steering failure. That's normal and is so described in the owner's manual. Just turn the steering wheel from side to side will re-activate the system and clear the error message.
Good luck
