Yupp! it's your installation, not you MOST...sequence of the install must of been done wrongly!

Peter...have you looked at installation option 2(a) in the link that i've attached in my previous post today?...that is the only way you install the unit, and fyi, there's no other way to do it! Yours is CCC+mp3+CDC right? Do the installation accordingly...

Once done according to the sequence as 2a, you reset the unit...make sure the mode switch is set to GW500 mode and not CDC. switch off your car and switch it back on...it's supposed to work!

I'm on the GW51M01 h/w version...if yours is version 2, yours is newer than mine...but, i have 6 dipswitches and yours has 4...Weird!
I hooked it up as follows: CCC --> CDC --> Gateway, the other way around should be for other BMW.

I bought the unit from somebody here on the forum, as far as I know he is located in Thailand. Perhaps the product is manufactured their.....

Anyway it works now!

i bought it from Val (username on e60.net)...he's also from Thailand. I think we bought it from the same guy...US$350.00, right? fyi, it's a product from Hungary.

Indeed I also bought it from val. It's the version with the 4 dipswitches, so it should be the same version as you have.

In the manual is written V2.01.

Where can I by this blue DIN cable for the iPhone?

Thank you!

BTW, my external HDD 110GB will not have enough power to connect it direct to the USB of the Gateway. Is there any USB cable with extra power supply cable for an external power supply?

How do arrange this?

And I read the Gateway cannot read NTFS, everybody says you have format it with FAT32, but with FAT32 is not avalible in Windows Vista. Only is available eFAT, should be the choice?

(and I thought FAT32 is for maximum 4GB, so anyhow all biggers disk should be formatted in eFAT...)

Problem solved!

I use Swissknife, http://www.compuapps.com/Download/sw...swissknife.htm to format my USB HDD. Works great, and the software is free....

With the latest firmware do you still need your car to have MP3 capabilities? The dealer can update the unit for MP3?

I've connected my IVE1000 directly to the Video in on the ACM but I don;t get full screen video. How is this IVE1000 connected? Is it connected to the Video-Input on the OEM DVT?

I just installed the BTA1500 with GW500. had to uninstall BTA1000 for this to work...

bluetooth phone via BTA1500 connects on any entertainment source - not just limited to CD/GW500 mode...It now uses the same UI as of the I-drive Communication menu. It also works like the original bluetooth interface (TCU) with slight bugs that i'm sure will be sorted out by Dension...

What's wrong with it? Well, from my observation :

it doesn't display phonebook as mentioned in the ads (or even caller-id when an incoming call occurs) and voicedial doesn't work like on the BTA1000. i've tried pairing with a Motorola v3, v3i, WM6 MDA and O2 Atom Life (WM6) and it all doesn't display phonebook (which according to the compatability list, it should work)...

The "dial number" function in Communication UI lets you key-in the number via the idrive knob, but after keying in the number you plan to call, you're unable to slide the i-drive knob down to 'dial'....This means, now you can't make an outgoing call without holding your phone - calls have to be done through phone!

Signal icon is not present when paired, but when on an incoming call/ outgoing call/ still on call and the engine is switched off, the signal icon appears and blinks. Weird!...

But, A2DP works properly... I wanted the voice dial because i don't have "Voice Control" on my car and with BTA1000 it'll only work on CD/GW500 mode and won't work when on other entertainment modes.

So, i was quite frustrated with the outcome results ...For now i think i'll have to fix back BTA1000 and wait until Dension comes up with a bugfix for this...
Hello,

I am interested in GW500 + BTA1500. Do you still have these problems or just in first install? Thanks !
