Pm'd you, Also on the rod you'll need a torx bit to hold the rod in place while you spin the nut...now with an impact gun you'll wont need to do that cause it spins it faster makes sense right. Same with swaybar endlinks you need that torx bit to hold the rod so you can break the nuts loose with a wrench. its exactly like the rear swaybar endlinks.

yea when u try to tighten the nut the shaft will spin with it so take a torx or allen key stick it in the stop then put a box wrench over it and muscle it in opposite directions. ifur coilovers dont have a adjuster hex on top then use the impact gun

It was the bump stops that cured the banging. Then I changed to H&R race so because I went lower I decided to get new top mounts just incase they were starting to wear. There's been no clunking since then. Strange as most advise against the H&R race but I've found they match better to the Koni yellow's and look a damn site lower at the back:-)

I'm sure if you haven't put back the bump stops (shorten them a bit though) then your problem should go.

Did you change spring guides when you had the new springs put in? I have some very moderate clunking after I had the new suspension put in, and it is probably because of the old spring guides. I'm going to get the new ones installed (hopefully, soon), so I'll let you know if it fixes the problem. But if you're using your old ones, chances are, they clunk.

Clunking reduced dramaticly after springs settled but its not completely gone, taking the car to a the shop

Could be part of the new spring seating that need to settle in. My CO's clunked for a while that drove me nuts like you. After 3 - 4 weeks, settled in and dont even know if noise is there anymore.

Yep, I've had alot of improvement in just 1 week of coilovers settling, ride is MUCH better

When I had my suspension installed, I too got some clunking. I am now trying to work it out with my shop. Actually, had the car lifted today and the clunking got much better after the car was dropped back. Nothing was really done, except a tightening of the bolt in the lower damper bracket.

By guides, I meant the upper and lower spring pads (items 9&12, below; I still like the term "guide" better ). I just bought them yesterday, want to get them installed asap and give the entire suspension a re-torquing with a proper torque wrench...
