Interesting so this needs coding after installing CIC retrofit?

Ofcourse it does. The hardware emulator just enables the Navigation and Voice. But the CIC still needs coding to your car.

Good morning Patryk,
In October of last year you had some promising comments regarding an OEM back-up camera type integration with our iDrive systems.

How many of you would be interested in a backup camera kit integrated with the CIC?
PnP solution, consiting of aftermarket parts to keep the price at a reasonable level.

We have just confirmed this can be done also for the E60/E61/E63/E64 vehicles and trying to figure out how many of you might consider this as your next upgrade.
At the same time we are preparing the backup camera kit for the 3-series and X5/X6 vehicles.
Do you have any further information on this and is a kit now available? Spring is fast approaching us here in Toronto and I am still interested in getting this done.

Let us know.

Thanks!

The last I checked with him they had only a BETA version available.

The E60 rear view camera retrofit is already available.
The good news is that it's fully PnP and much easier to install than any other rear view camera retrofit available from other vendors. The camera itself is integrated in the trunk handle, so you do not have to deal with any license plate light issue - just replace the trunk handle and run a single cable to the CIC where the camera PnP harness is installed.

We have tested the picture quality between our camera and a few others we could find in the market and I can assure you you won't find any other that would give you as good picture quality at night and in the day light as our camera.

Now the bad news is that it cannot be integrated with the CIC as nicely as the E90 version, so you cannot have the PDC and camera picture on the screen at the same time (you will see the camera picture and hear PDC).

This is how the E60 rear view camera picture looks like:

Excellent news Patryk,
I'm still very interested in doing this upgrade. I'll contact you via email so we can discuss the details.

Thanks,

Just pulled the trigger on the CIC retrofit from Patryk. My car is pre-LCI, if I get the LCI climate control, is it plug-n-play or will it need coding?

I believe you will need coding for LCI climate controls, but some body here can correct me if I'm wrong.
