I do not believe there is much aditional horspower available from the normally aspirated engines. I looked into Dinan mods for my last car - a 2002 530 (E39). The Dinan literature said something to the effect that BMW had done such a good job tuning the engine that software mods could only get a few (les than 10) additional horses. To get more power, you had to do physical mods - intake, exhaust, etc.

I suspect it is the same with the E60 engines.

but you won't be able to drive as fast as where you live now. that will probably affect your health even more .

When i had my vette I would take it to the track and I'd always see the guys with the auto transmissions using a handheld devise that they would plug into the dash port and then they could set the shift points, adjust the fuel mixture and set when to turn on the thermostats. There were also other setting you could adjust. The nice thing was when you were done you just hit "reset" and it set everything back to factory settings.
