Not sure what's delaying the launch of VF sc kit? But they european partner SKN-tuning seemed to have release the SC kit in european market at 10,000 euros. Not sure if we have the edge over the M5 after installing the SC kit, but definitely we won't be smoke in disgrace :-)

?10k ?
If it is true they are "out of head", we say here .

Anyway ... ?10k is impossible, too high!

Spoke with the representative from VF Engineering face-to-face yesterday. The ballpark price is between $7000 - $10000 US. They are trying to keep it under $10K. They are shooting for 1st or 2nd quarter release of 2007. The supercharger will be available for both the 4.4 and 4.8 engine at the same time. Potentially, the supercharger affixed to the 4.8 engine will give the M5 a run for it's money, near 500 HP. Best part, for both the 4.4 and 4.8 is that there will be gobs of torque at the low end in excess of 400 lb-ft.

Lots and lots of testing. I, for one, don't mid all the testing. Would rather they NOT rush it to market and fail miserably.

Sounds like a good news!
What I need is high low end torque and more power! This is what I'll call the ultimate driving machine!

I expected that. S/C on 545i should give M5 a flush. Actually, the syst. is much better deal both in $$$ and performance. You paid 10K+labor is still much cheaper than buying an M5. On the other hand, a non Turbo 996 added the S/C syst. will come close to a Turbo car.

I think $9k would be good only for stage2 (over 500 BHP for 545i) .
