one of these kits is going on my car when it comes out, I have to have it. I already have one kit on my 328Ci and it's awesome. No one has better integrity and know how than VF.
How many miles with SC, on the 328ci ?
Tnx!

So what do VF do to the car, other than bolt on the supercharger and remap?
Just for reference, the Alpina also has a supercharged 4.4l V8, but with new forged pistons, revised throttle / injector system, massive intercooler, new exhaust system, etc., plus uprated gearbox and diff, and of course larger brakes, wheels and revised suspension.
Maybe that's overkill, but I think you'd have to agree that just slapping on a Vortech isn't quite the same thing. Something has to give, whether its gas mileage, reliability or both. Hence, if VF get almost the same power as a B5 with a (less efficient) Vortech supercharger kit (the ASA compressor is supposedly uber-efficient, plus there's the intercooler matter), and without the extra reinforcement used in the B5, I'd be quite concerned about reliability.
And this is from a guy who's seriously considered supercharging his E31...

450 - 469 HP for 545i Stage 1. Stage 2 will bring it close to 500 HP. 550i will be at 500 HP with Stage 1.

I think there's also a big delta between the B5's output and the VF SC. Isn't the B5 close to 500hp? The VF SC for the 545 will probably be around 450hp.
