Where did you manage to get all of your parts from?
That's the funny part Indy. I haven't bought anything as yet but my plan is to get the headlights used on eBay (likely the US version although I like the inner lens on the Euro version better). I will re-use my Adaptive Light Modules and most likely buy the Harness kit and LCM Module from getbmwparts.com

Same over here. The cheapest i found for a brand new set of lci headlights with adaptive control was $1400 shipped to us. Pretty expensive. Plus the LCM,cables and coding its comes out to be pretty expensive to do this mod. How are you going to do your coding?

Has it been confirmed that the AHL unit can be reused?

I'm working with a particular seller now on eBay who specializes in used Headlights. If I'm lucky I will get a pair of very clean LCI Bi-Xenons, all mounting tabs intact, complete with AHL servo motors (no adaptive light modules and no ballasts or bulbs) for about USD $800.00 a pair + shipping. (Once I secure my pair I will be more than happy to put you in contact with the supplier

In addition, here are the prices I got today from getbmwparts.com

Headlight LCM Module # 61359154944 - $379.20
LCI Conversion Harness kit # 61120432110 - $28.43

I didn't realize until today that the damn LCM module was so expensive however I have a good friend in Europe who also has access to used BMW parts and I will ask him tonight regarding getting the LCM out of Europe and what it will cost there.

How are you going to do your coding?
Coding is the easy part. I've been working with another member of our forums (Patrys) for more than a year now. Collectively we have done major upgrades to my CiC and more recently TCU swap-out for Combox. We have done numerous coding enhancements remotely using his customized software on my laptop, integration with the car via USB/OBDII cable and parallel discussions via Skype. I've discussed re-coding the LCM with him and also enabling the AE rings as Daytime Running Lights for me, and it will not be a problem.

His services are also available and I can certainly put you in contact with him if you wish. I'm sure he would be very reasonable in what he would charge you also.

nomis,
My experience with this is very limited given that I have not physically done the install as yet. As you probably already know, there are members who have attested that re-using their existing AHL modules on the new LCI head lights have resulted in failure.

Having said that the BMW OEM # for the AHL module as compared between pre-LCI and LCI, is the same. If the failure is as a result of coding and not mechanical constraints (as I suspect it will be); again there is no better man to figure this out in my option than Patrys. I've discussed this with him also and he too does not have any experience with this type of install but will surely be able to re-code the AHL module if such functionality exists. If we fail, then I'll do without AHL until I can purchase replacement modules through getbmwparts.com.

For reference, they are USD $117.92 ea.

More costing information....
I previously purchased 6000K HID Fog lights from John@Motorcepts last year. I wanted to ensure that with these lights I would have a complete colour match with the Xenons in the LCI headlights therefore I have already ordered and received from John:

(a) Set of 8000k HID Angel Eyes to match 6000K Fogs - $220
(b) Set of 6000K D1S bulbs - $120. (I will re-use my D1S clips and Ballasts from me pre-LCI Head lights given that my Headlight assembly was manufactured in 2007. I think 2005 and up was the cut-off).

I recently checked out LCI headlights locally - HELLA Brand and I have a different part number. So I'm not sure if what I saw was the correct one. It sure looks like it. Seller was asking $1200 for a pair.
