I just read this entire thread and am planning to upgrade the sub amp. I'll try leaving the stock subs in place at first to see what it sounds like, and upgrade to the SWS-8 if I'm not satisfied. Would you happen to know the power rating and impedance of the stock subs? I don't want to blow them.
I'm planning to use one of the following Rockford Fosgate amps: Prime R250x1 or Punch PBR300x1. Both are smaller than the original Xetec amp in your write-up (in the case of the PBR, much smaller!) Any opinion between these two? You wrote above that you replaced the Xetec with a R-F; how do you like it?
By the way - the v6 cables and LCI tail lights are still working great after more than 1 year! Hopefully the amp will still fit with the v6 cables in place (I don't recall exactly how much they stick out into the trunk cavity where the amp will go).

My Ride: BMW E60 530i 04
Got E60, with a speaker on top of the dash so i assume it means i've got logic7. I have a sub and an amp sitting in my room, i don't really want to touch the stock system i just want to add an amp and a sub to it, what would be the difference of doing it in E60 and E30?
