Has anyone successfully added an aftermarket USB port and module to their CCC unit?
If so any recommendations on where to order it?

I added the Dension module called Gateway500 4 years ago. I installed it myself cost was $500. It also adds Bluetooth, iPad-iphone integration, AuX and yes USB.
I purchased it directly from Dension at Dension.com. I have heard you can purchase similar unit from other sources as well.

Its possible to add oem aux/usb port to pre LCI e60 but you need to change your MULF or TCU module for MULF2.

I got DIY for change TCU - MULF2 but in german. You need MULF2 + cable from mulf2 to aux/usb ports + MULF2 blue dice + usb/aux ports + coding.
When i make it myself i will create Polish and English DIY with photos etc. But now got another upgrades to do in my car.

I dont know how to change MULF - MULF2 but its possible.

I have an 04 525 with only an aux port in the glove box, I was thinking I wouldn't mind having a usb in so I can just save music on a flash drive leave it plugged in an forget about it, what exactly goes into this process?

You're picking up an old thread. These days, people prefer to stream their music via bluetooth. Adding USB is no longer worth it IMHO.
