Yes it will work. The ACM is only connecting to the controller to get the feeds for the two CAN wires. So what you need to do is go back to the old idrive plug, then connect that to the ACM and then the return from the ACM needs to be used for the new idrive controller.

Update,
For some strange reason, i dont think the ACM's going to work because, the ACM cannot recognise the 2 CAN cables, ive tried absolutely everything my car is in bits, and not joy. a few people on dif forums have had the same probs with their lci cars and cannot get it to work on their new controllers as the CAN module is too old to accept the new idrive.

Don't, I'm absolutely sure I can get this to work for you. It'll just take a little bit of studying the wiring diagram for the ACM. Am on holiday until the 16th of Mar if you can wait that long.

Has anyone figure it out yet, if it's possible to intergrate the acm (level 2) with only the new cic idrive controller; Do we need to upgrade to acm (level 3) to make the controller work with acm?
