Damn, nice install. Someone in the US North East needs to learn how to do this; I would be the first on the list to get this done.

Yes it will work. The ACM is only connecting to the controller to get the feeds for the two CAN wires. So what you need to do is go back to the old idrive plug, then connect that to the ACM and then the return from the ACM needs to be used for the new idrive controller.

thanks bruce, you came to my rescue..... what happened was, i unplugged the new idrive pins and put everything back to default, ( except the menu button) and then took out the pins from the ACM harness to work my idrive, but didnt work..... so i'll try and add the 4 pin menu button back aswell and see if that works? but then again i would need to buy a spare 4pin cover for the idrive.

really itching to get this to work

Update,

For some strange reason, i dont think the ACM's going to work because, the ACM cannot recognise the 2 CAN cables, ive tried absolutely everything my car is in bits, and not joy. a few people on dif forums have had the same probs with their lci cars and cannot get it to work on their new controllers as the CAN module is too old to accept the new idrive.

but thanks for the advise bruce.

Looks like i'm gonna have to head to ebay

Don't, I'm absolutely sure I can get this to work for you. It'll just take a little bit of studying the wiring diagram for the ACM. Am on holiday until the 16th of Mar if you can wait that long.

Has anyone figure it out yet, if it's possible to intergrate the acm (level 2) with only the new cic idrive controller; Do we need to upgrade to acm (level 3) to make the controller work with acm?
